How to change the radio channel on the Vodafone GigaCube CAT19?

You can change the channel on your Vodafone GigaCube CAT19.

  1. Enter http: //giga.cube or 168.8.1 in the address field of the internet browser.
  2. Click on the GigaCube web interface > Settings WLAN > Advanced WLAN settings.
  3. 2.4GHz Wi-Fi: Use the pull-down menu next to Channel to change the receive channel. It is best to choose channel 6 or 11. These are overlap-free. Avoid channels 9 and 10 because microwaves operate at the same frequency.

How to set up your Vodafone GigaCube CAT19?

Before you start, check the contents of the delivered GigaCube. The package includes the Vodafone GigaCube CAT19, the power supply, LAN cable and installation instructions.

First, put Vodafone GigaCube CAT19 into operation

  1. Your micro SIM card is inserted.
  2. Plug in the network cable or connect your device to the WLAN.

Good to know: If you use WLAN, enter the WLAN password (network security key).
You can find it on the sticker at the bottom of the GigaCube. You will also find a sticker in the packaging.
Note: The GigaCube must be connected to the mobile Internet.
It’s even easier now with a QR code scanner. Scan the QR code and connect directly to the GigaCube via Wi-Fi.
Tip: Use the Huawei SmartHome app. The QR code scanner is already there.

  8. Enter a new login password for your router for security.

  10. Now the GigaCube web interface opens.

How to insert my SIM card into the Vodafone GigaCube CAT19?

  1. Open the micro SIM card cover on the bottom of the Vodafone GigaCube CAT19.
  2. Carefully insert the micro SIM card into the card slot until you hear a click.
    Your micro SIM card is already activated. You do not need a PIN when starting the GigaCube.
  3. Then shoot the micro SIM card cover.
  4. Connect the power supply to the router.

Good to know: If your Vodafone router is turned on, you must not insert or remove the micro SIM card. This may affect performance or damage the micro SIM card.

Do the Vodafone GigaCube Cat19 support public IP addresses?

– No, public IP addresses are currently not supported. With the GigaCube rates, a private IP address is automatically stored.

 

Can I connect my landline telephone to the GigaCube?

– No, that will not work. The telephone connection on the GigaCube is shut down. There are no voice services for the GigaCube rate on the SIM card. You also can not use the GigaCube’s phone port with another SIM card with voice services.

 

Can I also use the GigaCube in my motorhome?

– Yes, with the Vodafone GigaCube you can even surf in the car, motorhome and camping.
You only need Vodafone mobile reception and a car converter for the cigarette lighter or 12V connection.
Or use the GigaCube external battery.

 

Does the GigaCube have voice recognition?

In March 2019, Huawei supplied the new LTE WiFi Router B818 to Vodafone and the B818 router got a new name “Vodafone GigaCube Cat19” as the successor to the old model Vodafone GigaCube B528. Per the description from Vodafone, the Huawei B818 router could achieve download speeds up to 1.6Gigabits per second and upload speeds up to 150Mbps based on the LTE Category 19. It’s the fastest LTE router from Huawei now. For the Vodafone GigaCube Cat19, Huawei offer the model number B818-260.

Although the Huawei B818 GigaCube Cat19 is the successor to the first generation GigaCube Huawei B528, the appearance of B818 looks more similar to the Huawei B618 Router. The Huawei B818 router is integrated with HiSilicon Balong V7R65 modem which supports LTE Cat19 with 256QAM, and up to 8 x 8 MIMO Antenna technology. Telstra Presents Netgear Nighthawk M2 5G Mobile WiFi Router

As the successor to the Nighthawk M1, Netgear presented a new 5G mobile router Nighthawk M2 for the Australian network carrier Telstra at CES 2019. The new mobile hotspot supports 4G LTE Category 20 and could provide faster speeds for surfing. The appearance of the new 5G mobile hotspot is very similar to the first 5G mobile router Netgear Nighthawk M5, which is available for the AT&T 5G networks in the USA.

The Nighthawk M2 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon X24 modem, and the theoretical data rates are 2Gbps for download and 316Mbps for upload. It’s possible to achieve 7 carrier aggregations for download and triple carrier aggregation for upload. The 4 × 4 MIMO antenna technology is supported on up to 5 carriers simultaneously. The 256QAM modulation is supported not only in the downlink but also in the uplink. Combining the mentioned technologies, the device reaches the mentioned 2 gigabits per second – but only if the mobile networks support these technologies as well.

Like the predecessor M1, Netgear M2 could also support maximum up to 20 wireless devices to access the internet. What’s more, the Nighthawk M2 has one RJ45 Ethernet port, one USB-C Port and one Type-A USB port. And two connectors for external antennas are available, but what’s the connector type is unknown yet. More details of the Netgear Nighthawk M2 is waiting for the official specs from Netgear or Telstra.

 

According to the Telstra news, the Nighthawk M2 is the world’s fastest 4G device on Australia’s fastest mobile network, and it’s said the M2 was already under test and it would be available in the market in early 2019. Telit Presents LM940 Module for 600 Mbit/s Connectivity

As the specialist of radio connectivity modules and publisher of software and service platforms for the Internet of Things (IoT) market, Telit unveiled the first Mini PCIe module LM940, which is the first card in the world to support LTE download speed to 600Mbps. The Telit LM940 module offers full Mini PCI Express format (50.95 x 30 x 2.8 mm) capable of supporting LTE-Advanced Category 11 (Cat-11) technology. The Telit LM940 specifications are very similar to the current hot LTE-advanced pro module Sierra Wireless AirPrime EM7565.

The LM940, which is expected to be approved by several mobile operators in the fourth quarter of 2018, is capable of operating in the temperature range of -40 ° C to + 85 ° C and achieves this through support the carrier aggregation technology (three in this case) and 256QAM modulation. Telit LM940 is based on Qualcomm’s LTE Snapdragon X12 Modem as well as a satellite positioning receiver and is also capable of transmitting 75 Mbit/s in the upstream channel.
