Difference between ZTE UFi MF980 and Netgear Aircard 810s

Since more and more network providers deployed LTE advanced networks, many vendors over the world are providing new LTE gadgets to support the latest new LTE networks. The US vendor Netgear Wireless and Chinese vendor ZTE are two of them. Netgear presents the Aircard 810s with support of LTE Category 11 and ZTE provides the UFi MF980 with support of LTE Category 9. In this article, we will check what the difference is between the two mobile 4G Routers.

Appearance

The Netgear Aircard 810s has a 2.44 inch LCD touchscreen, user can do simple settings like operating a smartphone. However, the ZTE MF980 UFi’s 1.44 inch TFT screen is not a touchscreen, so it can be operated by the power and func button, web interface or by ZTELink APP. Of course, the Aircard 810s could also be operated from web interface and Netgear aircard APP. The ZTE UFi MF980 is very thinner than Netgear Aircard 810s, so the feel in hand is better.

They both have two connectors for external LTE antennas and the connector type is TS-9. The connectors in Aircard 810s are located at the two sides of the USB ports with small caps, while the connectors of ZTE MF980 are together. And they both use Micro SIM.

Battery

The battery of Aircard 810s is removable and the SIM card slot is in the battery slot. The battery capacity is 2930mAh, which could support 11 hours for continuous use. The battery of ZTE MF980 UFi is built-in and can’t be removed. And its battery is 2200mAh, which is enough for daily use, but can’t be changed to backup battery. But they both don’t have slot for Micro SD card.

Technical Specifications

With Qualcomm Snapdragon X12 chipset and the support of LTE Category 11, Netgear Aircard 810s could support peak download speed to 600mbps. ZTE UFi MF980 could achieve download speed to 450mbps and upload speed to 50Mbps with the support of LTE Category 9.

Netgear Aircard 810s could connect up to 15 wireless users simultaneously while ZTE UFi MF980 could support up to 32 wireless users to access internet, on this point, ZTE UFi MF980 seems more powerful than Aircard 810s. Regarding the WLAN feature, they could support latest Wi-Fi 802.11ac with 2 X 2 MIMO on dual band(2.4GHz and 5GHz).

Other feature

The Netgear Aircard 810s has an extra function called Jump Boost, which makes it could work like a mobile power bank to charge other electric devices such as smartphone, Pads etc..ZTE MF980 UFi doesn’t have this function per the official description.

Conclusion

Comparing the features and specifications of the Netgear Aircard 810s and ZTE UFi MF980, it’s not doubt that Aircard 810s is better than ZTE MF980. With higher configuration, Netgear Aircard 810s can provide better performance for internet connection, but price would be higher. ZTE MF980 UFi is also good for most users with budget price. But the built-in battery may not be a good feature if you want it to work for long time.

Difference Between Huawei B618 and E5180 LTE Cube

You may use the Huawei E5180 LTE Cube at home for wireless internet connection. It’s a good wireless router in cool shape like a cube. With the development of LTE networks, the end-users and the network providers have a higher demand for the user equipment. Here comes the new LTE router Huawei B618, which seems to be upgraded from the Huawei E5180 cube and in this article, we will see what’s the difference between the Huawei B618 and E5180, and what functions have been improved from the old one to the new one.

Appearance

Following the Cube shape design of Huawei E5180, Huawei B618 is also in white color but has a larger body and higher if stands on a desk. Perhaps because the B618 has more interfaces for multi-functions, the B618 weights much more than E5180. On the front of Huawei E5180, there is only one signal indicator and one WiFi indicator, but on the B618, there are three signal indicators, and the power, status, LAN, WiFi, mode indicators & WPS button are listed.

On the back, Huawei E5180s-22 has one LAN port, one telephone port and one power plug port. The E5180s-610 only has one LAN ports, no telephone port. Two connectors for the external antenna are listed at another side of the body. Huawei B618 has two LAN ports(one is also for WAN), one USB 2.0 port, one telephone port and power plug port. What’s more, the B618 router also has the power button and two connectors for external antenna, which are covered by a small cap.

On the top side, Huawei E5180 has the Huawei logo but it’s empty on the Huawei B618 top side. They both have one label on the bottom, which indicates the model number, SSID, WiFi key/password, power rating, IMEI and S/N number, and other certification logos. The Huawei B618 has extra WPS Pin on the label. And they both have the SIM card slot at the bottom and uses a Micro SIM card.

Technical Specifications

As an LTE Category 4 router, Huawei E5180 can support peak download speed up to 150Mbps and upload speed to 50mbps. The new Huawei B618 LTE Cat11 router could achieve almost 4 times the speed from E5180, i.e download speed to 600mbps. Huawei E5180 can support maximum 32 users to access the internet while Huawei B618 can support 64 WiFi users, which is double of that from E5180.

The WLAN standard of Huawei E5180 is IEEE 802.11 b/g/n on single band 2.4GHz. The Huawei B618s-22d can support the latest 802.11 ac besides a/b/g/n on dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz).

Management

The two routers could both be managed from the web interface in the browser, but Huawei also provides the APP to manage the routers from Smartphones or Pads.

It’s no doubt that the Huawei B618 with higher specs is much better than E5180, but frankly speaking, the Huawei E5180 cube is enough for most users at home or office. If you don’t have too many requirements for the router, Huawei E5180 is budget one to recommend. Huawei B618 is also good to recommend because it’s future-proof and would provide fantastic surfing experience under LTE-advanced networks.

Difference Between Huawei E5577 and E5573

Huawei E5 Mobile WiFi family have new members in the past year. Except the hot Huawei E5786 LTE Category 6 mobile hotspot, we also got the Huawei E5577 and E5573 4G LTE Category 4 mobile hotspot. You may feel puzzled about the name of the two mobile hotspot. They are too similar that we cannot tell what’s real difference between. That’s why we write this article today. Let’s check what’s the real difference and make a clue to the customers who are interested in them.

Huawei-E5573 vs E5577 MIFI

Appearance

If you only hear the name, you don’t have imagination about the two mobile routers. But if you get the two routers in hand, you will see there is obvious difference:

Huawei E5577 has a 1.45 inch TFT LCD screen, at the left side of the screen, it’s the logo; and at the right side, the power button. Huawei E5573 has no screen, the power button is at the middle of the top body. At the left side of the power button, it’s the signal strength indicator while the battery indicator at the right side. From this point, Huawei E5577 seems more friendly, because user can read the information about network providers, network signal, WiFi connected users, battery status, WiFi name and password on the screen.

Huawei E5577 is thicker than E5573 even though they both has the same battery capacity of 1500mAh. And their battery can be removed so that user can insert the SIM card under the battery.

Technical Specifications

Huawei E5577 and E5573 are both LTE mobile hotspots based on LTE Category 4, so they could both support the peak download speed to 150Mbps and upload speed to 50mbps on FDD-LTE networks. While on TD-LTE network, the peak download speed to 112mbps and upload speed to 10Mbps. And they both support up to 11 wireless terminals to access internet simultaneously. Similarly, the 3G UMTS/DC-HSPA+ and GSM/EDGE networks are backward. And the speed on DC-HSPA+ network could reach 43.2Mbps, which is good for most users.

Huawei E5573 and E5577 both have the connectors for external antennas. The connector type is TS-9, so if you are located at areas with weak network coverage, an external antenna may be necessary so that to get better surfing experience. Below are the recommended external indoor and outdoor antenna for Huawei E5577 and E5573:

Huawei E5577/E5573 4G Indoor External Antenna:

From the technical specifications, we can see the two mobile hotspot are too similar that we believe the manufacturer Huawei just re-design the appearance to distinguish them. The core data are kept same for markets demands. So if you are interested in them, we can only tell the Huawei E5577 is more user-friendly. Other features are very similar that you can ignore.

huawei E5573 MIFI SIZE

One more important note is that the two routers both has many sub-models, which could support multiple LTE(TDD or FDD) bands. You must check carefully if you want to buy them. You need check your local network and then decide which one is for you.

Difference between ZTE MF831 and MF823

ZTE MF831 is the new 4G LTE Wireless modem which supports TDD & FDD networks. It’s a LTE Category 4 Internet USB Stick, which support peak download speed up to 150Mbps on FDD network and upload speed to 50Mbps. Since we had introduced the predecessor ZTE MF823 USB Stick, what’s the difference between the two sticks? Today, we will have a look at the difference between them.

From the blank, we can see ZTE MF831 and MF823 are in the same dimension. ZTE MF831 is the upgraded version of ZTE MF823. MF831 is LTE Category 4 Stick which supports peak download speed to 150mbps, and it’s first ZTE LTE Cat4 Stick. With the support TDD network, ZTE MF831 could work well with more network providers. It supports more LTE Bands than MF823, and data rate speed is almost 1.5 times than MF823.

They are both compatible with 3G UMTS 900/2100MHz networks; with DC-HSPA+ technology, they could reach peak download speed to 42mbps. When LTE networks are not available, they would automatically switch to UMTS network to get the reliable network with fastest speed. But ZTE MF831 support upload speed to 11Mbps while MF823 supports 5.76Mbps.

However, it seems there is no external antenna connector in MF831, while MF823 has two external antenna connectors which will be more useful for MIMO connection. They both support microSD storage card expandable to 32GB. And they can both works with the latest operation system: Win7, Windows XP, Vista, Win8, Mac OS etc..

So ZTE MF831 is better with upgraded function, but if you want the 4G datacard with antenna connector, MF823 seems to be the right model.

From the table above, we can see that the main difference between the Vodafone K5006 and K5005 is the manufacturer. Vodafone K5006 is manufactured by ZTE, so it’s also called Vodafone K5006Z; Vodafone K5005 is from Huawei. The second difference is dimension, the size of the 4G modems are similar. We have to mention that both of them are with rotatable USB connector, which will save much space for users.

So we can conclude that the two modems are very similar in function and performance based on the same chipset. If you prefer to Huawei or ZTE Brand, you can choose the modem on their brands.

Difference Between Huawei E2130 and E2131

Huawei E2130 and E2131 are the world’s first 3G SD modems, which was released at CES 2014. They have the main function to memorize data as datacard, one special feature is added by Huawei. They also have the SIM card slot for wireless connection. The NANO SIM card could be inserted into the datacard and after plug the card to PC or tablets, the PC or tablets could access internet through the 3G SIM card based on the SD card.

Here now Huawei E2130 and E2131 could maximum download speed up to 21Mbps, which is enough for most applications. But since the Data card is already in small size, so nano sim card could be used to save more space.

Huawei E2130 and E2131 are both in SD card size, but Huawei E2131 is larger in size to 37 mm length, while E2130 is 32mm. This is the first difference. The second difference is that the network frequency bands. Huawei E2130 supports 3G single band 2100MHz. It seems to be a common version. Huawei E2131 seems to meet different areas because it support dual-bands, and it has many band combinations, such as 900/2100MHz, 850/2100mhz, 850/1900MHz and 900/1900MHz.

The third difference is on the power consumption, which is also a big concern for users. Huawei E2130 normally consumes power ~300mA/3.3V @0dm, and maximum 500mA/3.3@ 22dBM. With larger size, Huawei E2131 normally consumes ~300mA/3.3V @0dm while maximum 630mA/3.3@ 22Dbm.

Below are the specification details and difference for reference:

Difference Between HUAWEI E5776 and E5372

With the 4G LTE network development, more and more 4G LTE Category 4 devices are available. HUAWEI is always leading the mainstream of LTE trend. And more and more Huawei wireless devices are available. Today, we will have a look at the Huawei E5776 and Huawei E5372 4G mobile WiFi hotspot, the two very powerful mobile and wireless routers. They are both available on the 4gltemall.com now.

You may wonder where the exact advantages and disadvantages of each device are, you will see the details in following article. A common feature is the integrated cellular modem: both the HUAWEI E5776 and the HUAWEI E5372 is based on HiSilicon Hi6920 chipset which is for the LTE Category 4 with up to 150 MBit/s download speed. In addition, the modem is backward compatible with UMTS DC-HSPA+ technology and including GSM/EDGE.

Differences

As we can see, the Huawei E5776 is in black color and made of plastic, but in China, the model HUAWEI E5776 is in white; and you can also see the Huawei E5372 is either black or white appearance, and with removable battery. This has some advantages, but the capacity of the E5372 battery is only 1780 mAh, which seems too much lower compared to 3000 mAh of HUAWEI E5776. This becomes apparent in the operating time: Huawei E5776 provides up to 10 hours of wireless Internet access, about 4 hours more than the E5372.

As the table shows, there is another difference: the Huawei E5372 wireless module transmits as desired in either the 2.4 GHz band or the 5 GHz range. Especially for large events with dozens of Wi-Fi networks so you have an advantage with the E5372, because the terminals of course also support the 5 GHz band. Furthermore, a repeater mode has been integrated in the E5372, so you can also use a different wireless network for Internet access when needed. Both devices have a limitation of connecting up to 10 WiFi users, in addition, an eleventh device can access the Internet with the MiFi router via USB cable.

For users who usually use their mobile LTE router in stationary, an external antenna can be useful. Here is important to note that only the Huawei E5372 has the necessary connections for the two MIMO technologies. The Huawei E5776 only has one TS-9 connector and is suitable only for UMTS antennas.

Conclusion

You decide which device ultimately, is a matter of taste. The Huawei E5776 has the advantage of significantly more powerful battery while the Huawei E5372 is technically more powerful in data transmission. At the main component, i.e. the modem, but both devices are absolutely equivalent and well equipped for the future.

More detailed information on the two devices you can get in the next article about test for the Huawei E5776 and Huawei E5372. Good to know: the Huawei E5776 mini is also available as a telecom Speedbox LTE, it costs a little less, but also slightly different frequency bands. Also the Huawei E5372 is cheaper available under a different name: Vodafone sold the unit from the 4th Quarter of 2013 under the name of R215 in its stores, also the frequency bands differ marginally from the original device.
