Difference Between Huawei E2130 and E2131

Huawei E2130 and E2131 are the world’s first 3G SD modems, which was released at CES 2014. They have the main function to memorize data as datacard, one special feature is added by Huawei. They also have the SIM card slot for wireless connection. The NANO SIM card could be inserted into the datacard and after plug the card to PC or tablets, the PC or tablets could access internet through the 3G SIM card based on the SD card.

Here now Huawei E2130 and E2131 could maximum download speed up to 21Mbps, which is enough for most applications. But since the Data card is already in small size, so nano sim card could be used to save more space.

Huawei E2130 and E2131 are both in SD card size, but Huawei E2131 is larger in size to 37 mm length, while E2130 is 32mm. This is the first difference. The second difference is that the network frequency bands. Huawei E2130 supports 3G single band 2100MHz. It seems to be a common version. Huawei E2131 seems to meet different areas because it support dual-bands, and it has many band combinations, such as 900/2100MHz, 850/2100mhz, 850/1900MHz and 900/1900MHz.

The third difference is on the power consumption, which is also a big concern for users. Huawei E2130 normally consumes power ~300mA/3.3V @0dm, and maximum 500mA/3.3@ 22dBM. With larger size, Huawei E2131 normally consumes ~300mA/3.3V @0dm while maximum 630mA/3.3@ 22Dbm.

3WebCube 3 Comes With LTE

The 3 webCube 3 is now the third edition of the popular router offered by Hutchison 3 in Austria. So far, according to the operator 3, over 120,000 webCube have already been sold. The special features are the compact dimensions and good design compared to other router models. It looks like the previous model Huawei B153 and B183, also named 3 Webcube White. The 3WebCube 3 is the first LTE Webcube model produced by the top manufacturer Huawei,  the webcube 3 could support GSM and UMTS as well as DC-HSPA+, and thus can reach speeds of up to 100 Mbit/s on LTE networks.

Up to 16 wireless devices
Like previous models, the design of 3WebCube plays a major role as the appliance consists of two parts, which can be illuminated in a blue tone. Unlike many mobile LTE router, the terminals can be connected to the modem at the same time via Wi-Fi, not limited to 10, but at least 16 units. So the connected users should be enough for a meeting with many participants capacity to be present. The gross speed is up to 300 Mbit/s over WLAN 802.11 b/g/n.

LTE and DC-HSPA+
The 3WebCube 3 supports the latest mobile technology LTE and operates in the frequency bands at 800, 1800 and 2600 megahertz. Webcube 3 can accommodate up to 100 Mbit/s for downlink and 50 Mbit/s for uplink. In the UMTS network, which is still significantly better developed in Austria as LTE, speeds of up to 42.2 Mbit/s can be achieved via DC-HSPA+ downlink.

Now available
The 3 webCube 3 will soon be available on www.4gltemall.com . If you decide, you get the router unlocked and uncontracted. And the unrestricted flat rate for GSM/UMTS/LTE with up to 100 MBit/s fordownload.

Vodafone K4606 3G 42Mbps USB Surfstick Available

A new modem Vodafone K4606 is now available on offer. The surf stick is the direct successor of the Vodafone K4605 and offers similar technical specifications. So you can use the DC-HSPA+ technology in the UMTS network, which enables speeds of up to 42.2 megabits per second for the downlink and 5.76 Mbit/s for the uplink. LTE is not supported. On this specifications, k4606 is very similar to Huawei E372 3G Stick. The manufacturer Huawei offers two colors for Vodafone K4606 stick, in black or white. So sometimes, people call it Huawei K4606.

High-quality UMTS Surf Stick
Even if LTE surf sticks are available in the market for 3 years, pure UMTS surf stick well have still be justified: they are often cheaper and offer many users a sufficient functionality. The Vodafone K4606 closes the gap between the extremely cheap, easy UMTS sticks and expensive LTE sticks. It offers up to all LTE functions, even high-end surfsticks bring that: an interface for an external antenna, built like a manhole for MicroSD memory cards.

HiSilion Chipset
The manufacturer Huawei uses its own developed chipsets at this time, and a chipset subsidiary HiSilicon is employed in Vodafone K4606. The “Balong 520” called modem chipset, besides EDGE (up to 296 kilobits per second in the downlink) and UMTS, including DC-HSPA+ (category 24). The supported frequency bands are in the range to 850/900/2100 MHz for UMTS and GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz. With dimensions of 72.5 x 26 x 11 millimeters and a weight of around 30 grams, the UMTS stick is very compact, but also has a small disadvantage: the USB port is not rotatable, so the modem a few centimeters from the USB port of the notebook stands out.

From the appearance, Vodafone K4606 is similar to Huawei E3251, but we are not sure whether K4606 comes from the E3251. But their similar specifications make them to replace each other.

The Vodafone K4606 is available on www.4gltemall.com unsubsidized. The SIM lock does not exist, so the surf stick can be used with any SIM card. The software is of course pre-configured for use with Vodafone cards.

O2 4G LTE Surfstick ZTE MF823 Test

In the last few weeks, O2 has a new LTE Surfstick ZTE MF823 in the product range. We have taken the “O2 Surf Stick 4G LTE” in detail and tested it in O2 LTE network. The ZTE MF823 is available on www.4gltemall.com without contract and is one of the best LTE surf sticks on the market. Inside the MF823 is a modem from Qualcomm, which belongs to LTE category 3 (up to 100 Mbit/s) UE and 3G UMTS, including DC-HSPA+ and GSM are naturally supported. LTE Category 4 is not supported yet, however, O2 advertises currently does speeds of up to 50 Mbit/s in its LTE network.

The ZTE MF823 is one of the smallest LTE surf sticks

Delivery and first impression
ZTE MF823 surf stick comes in a flat cardboard box, which looks like similar to the first O2 LTE sticks ZTE MF821D. Only on the design and on the back label, you can see that it is a different and new version of the surf sticks. The package is very simple, next to the surf stick is only listed a German-language Quick Start Guide.
At first glance, the ZTE MF823 in white seems very appealing. The dimensions and the weight is relatively low for an LTE Surf Stick, differences to a normal UMTS surf stick are no longer available. The entire front is removable, below that is the slot for the memory card and SIM card. The SIM card must be in standard size (mini-SIM). The USB port is protected by a cap, unfortunately the stick is not rotatable, and so the stick is always a few inches out of the laptop.

Settings
The O2 Surf Stick 4G LTE ZTE MF823 requires for operation software on the computer, only need to install drivers. After the first installation of the driver, the icon on the desktop of Windows or Mac OS is added. The configuration is thus completely browser-based, the steps works like the MiFi routers. The web interface has been found in the test as a great advantage, since it reacted extremely quickly and for the user, the operation is much more comfortable compared to separate software on the computer.
In the above embedded video, the settings in the web interface are described in detail, so we will limit ourselves here to the main functions: it provides detailed statistics on online time and data usage, you can send SMS messages and also modify the network technology if necessary, such as when the ZTE should MF823 spark only in the LTE network.

Under the cover, there is a slot for SIM cards and memory cards

An LED on the front of the ZTE MF823 is to inform about the current connection status. Once a connection to the Internet, the LED flashes – this is initially a bit confusing because it is the other way around, which is different from other surf sticks. The LED lights up when the connection is constant and without an active connection there is only a flashing visible. The connection itself is very fast, in our test, it connected much faster than modems with separate connection software. The reception strength in the LTE network was satisfactory, and it was strong, particularly in areas with poor reception. A short USB extension cable in this package box is found in the test to be very useful.

If desired, you can also equip the ZTE MF823 with two external antennas. This requires usually one or two adapters of TS-9 operation in LTE, a MIMO antenna or two simple antennas should be used in any case. And the operation in a Dovado router such as the Tiny Dovado is possible. But unfortunately, AVM FRITZ! did not recognize the ZTE MF823, so no internet connection could be made.

The operation on a router – here the Dovado Tiny – is possible

O2 LTE network: good extension, decent speeds
While using the ZTE MF823, we have also tested the LTE network from O2. We have performed velocity measurements in the entire city of Nuremberg; also we were in the region around Cologne. Both cities are so-called high-speed Areas of O2 and therefore already serve a large area with LTE. But even far outside of these cities, one often has a good LTE supply.
Under O2 LTE network, the speed could often reach to the advertised maximum of 50 Mbit/s download when located in the city. Even more surprising, the good uplink speeds could often reach above 20 Mbit/s, here you can praise the technicians of O2, and the other vendors generally offer considerably lower speeds. Latencies were on average between 40 and 60 milliseconds, in comparison with a bit higher than the competition.

The O2 Surf Stick 4G LTE ZTE MF823 has two antenna connectors

When one uses the O2 LTE network, is a fast page loading guaranteed. In the test Wore good speeds were available even in weak signal areas, which is different from the UMTS network, you can clearly see. So for O2 customers, it is certainly worthwhile to invest a few more euros for a LTE-capable rate, so at least our opinion after the test. If you get the unlocked ZTE MF823, you can use it with Vodafone, Telekom and O2.

Conclusion
The ZTE MF823 is a solid LTE stick, with which you cannot go wrong. Although the technology is not completely up to date (“only” 100 Mbit/s), the price is good and operation convinced with fast service and good data rates.

Vodafone R215 Mobile Wi-Fi (Huawei E5372 ) Test

Since the end of November 2013, Vodafone offers a new portable mini router called “Mobile Wi-Fi R215”. The unit dominated LTE and all relevant previous standards. The R215 LTE router is designed for travel companion rather than purely stationary use. Therefore, the package also advertises with the slogan “Wi-Fi everywhere in your pocket”. We have tested the Vodafone R215 detail on the heart and kidneys.

Vodafone R215 = Huawei E5372

Vodafone R215 is made incidentally by Huawei and is identical to the E5372 – just provided with Vodafone brand. If the R215 is SIM unlocked, of course, other providers SIM cards can be used with it. Huawei E5372 is original from Huawei, so many features are pure and not customized. So someone ask whether they can use the E5372 with Vodafone SIM, the answer is yes.

Technical parameters and first impression

We were surprised by the first dimension, with only 9.9 x 6.2 x 0.14 inches (HxWxD), the Vodafone R215 actually fits into any jacket pocket inside. With battery, we measured a weight of 97 grams, but we could not quite understand the 130g specified by Vodafone, perhaps with the box. In this sense, the router weighs so less than a bar of chocolate. Visually, it is in itself nothing to complain about. The housing is made of black matte plastic, so that the router is not comparable with a high quality smartphone, but never feels cheap. On the left side is an screen which measures 2.5×2.5 inches and operation pops up the most important results.

Inserting the battery and SIM card

Regarding the technical data, the R215 is absolutely convincing. The R215 hotspot supports LTE Category 4, so it can be used in combination with tariffs, which offer up to 150 Mbit/s download rate. In addition, the operating via HSPA+, HSIPA, UMTS, EDGE and GPRS is possible. However, unfortunately Vodafone R215 only support the frequency bands at 800, 1800 and 2600 MHz, so that the use of 4G abroad is a matter of luck. But it can still use in European countries. In 3G mode that looks a bit different. When traveling to the USA, South America, Africa, Asia and Oceania, there should be no problem, since all major bands (850, 900, 2100 MHz ) are covered .

We come to the next core of the R215, the WLAN module. If necessary, R215 can establish a hotspot with little effort. Up to 10 wireless devices can then connect to the Internet. It requires only a single Sim card in this scenario. This is an interesting method for those who want to connect several terminals on the road or in a hotel such as tablet, laptop, smartphone. The WiFi is supported with 2.4 or 5 GHz and in the standards 802.11 b/g/n. Thus, data rates up to 300 Mbps are possible.

Unfortunately, there is innately no internal memory (other than a 6 MB large system cache). However, up to 32 GB via Micro SD Card are extendable. Files can be loaded into and from the memory. Other connected users can also access other devices and read the files.

External antenna

As befits a portable 4G router, an external antenna can be connected, of course, if the receiving site is not ideal. Two TS9 ports are located on the underside (MIMO 2×2).

HUAWEI E5730S Mobile WiFi Hotspot Box Open

In the first circle of online purchasing the new Huawei E5730 Pocket WiFi, we are lucky to get the new mobile WiFi hotspot. Perhaps many people prefer to Huawei Honor 3C mobile phone. It’s said Huawei Honor 3C is the most budget 3G Smartphone with dual SIM card slot. It seems the Honor 3C is hard to get in short time. Today we get the demo of Huawei E5730s and we will have a check the details of this new mobile hotspot.

When we first get the package box, it looks like a notebook and is, very delicate. On the package box, we can see the model name in Chinese “Miaow”. There is a plastic stick to seal the box, after cut it, we can pull out the Huawei E5730s in the center. There is a transparent plastic bag to protect the body of E5730s from scratch.

It’s a pity that we didn’t find the user manual of this mobile router. There is only a USB cable in the bottom of the box. Just like other Huawei mobile WiFi, HUAWEI E5730s has only one bitton to operate. On the front face beside the Huawei logo, there are LED indicators about the WiFi, message, battery and connected devices.

The Huawei E5730s has inserted battery for 5200mAh, which is much larger capacity than other Mobile WiFis. At the body side, the capacity of E5730S is printed out. Open the backcover, we can see the SIM card slot and a stick. On the stick, there is some important information for users, for example, the SSID name and WiFi password. When you use this hotspot, it’s better to write down the password and then connect via this WiFi key. But we didn’t find the MicroSD card slot, so the E5730s would not support extendable storage.

There are alao the IMEI number, certificate number and model number of E5730S. We found the model number is also E5730s-2. The name is similar to Huawei E5331, the E5331s-2 is the model to support UMTS 900/2100MHz. Beside the SIM card slot, there ia the hole for reset, this is the button to set the device to facory default. User can use it when forgetting the password or want new quick setup.

It’s said the E5730s-2 could work for 16 hours. If so, it will solve the battery shortage problem. And as the backup function, it can work as power bank which can help the electronics in pocket such as iPhone, iPad, Tablets to get power support. What’s more, the Huawei E5730s can provide the download speed up to 42mpbs on DC-HSPA+ technology.  And up to 10 WiFi users could share the internet access. With the small size like a credit card, the Huawei E5730s is really a good mobile WiFi worthy to have one in pocket or outdoor.

Huawei E5730S-2 Mobile WiFi Hotspot and Power Bank

When the release of Huawei Honor 3C and Huawei Honor 3X is told almost all news sites, a rather interesting accessories presented on the same day, however, many people have forgotten for some reason. Huawei E5730S is a standalone 3G Wi-Fi router with built-in battery. Apparently the Huawei’s technological innovation is to haunt Xiaomi, which leads to rather interesting results.

Thanks to the LAN port, users will be able to use Huawei E5730 as a stationary router and connect devices via Wi-Fi. The Huawei E5730s also has a slot for a SIM card that allows you to distribute 3G DC-HSPA+ to all devices on the WI-FI speeds up to 42Mbit/s. Thanks to the battery with a capacity of 5200mAh, the E5730S gadget will keep connection with Internet for 16 hours, and standby time is around 500 hours per the official sayings from Huawei.

The Huawei E5730s-2 weighs only 168 grams, which is lighter than most smartphones. With Quick connection for 5 seconds and easy manage by admin panel, Huawei E5730 will be one of the popular mobile pocket WiFi depending on the special software for Android and IOS. Here now, the Huawi E5730 is now available on 4gltemall.com , we had tested that it can work oversea, not in China. So if you feel interested in this product, welcome to contact us or buy it directly online.

Huawei E5776s-601 Mobile 4G Router Test

We get the Huawei E5776 new model E5776s-601 and take a test per our schedule. Testing was conducted with firmware version 21.202.19.01.778. Update in semi-automatic mode via the Internet is possible.

Getting Started

Like other similar devices, start working with the router is very simple: installing SIM-card (format Mini-SIM), charging the battery or connect the power supply, turn on the power. In a couple of seconds, you can check the status of the connection with the network. If successful, the wireless clients connect to a secure network router using WPS or entering the password. As we know, the Huawei E5776 4G Router could support up to 10 clients.

Connection parameters are set automatically by the cellular provider (at least this is true for most operators). When changing the card, to change anything in the settings is not required. We can find that the network name and password, serial number, MAC and IMEI number are marked at the back of Huawei E5776, but we would still recommend to record this information somewhere just in case or learn to output it to the screen of the router.

If you connect the E5776S-601 router to your computer via USB, it can act as a network card and a USB-drive. Normal connection speed network card is 150 Mbit/s, which corresponds to the distance to the cell and network environment Internet around.

Like many modems, Huawei E5776 router has a slot for memory cards microSD. It is difficult to call it a mandatory feature in the scenario of mobile access to the Internet, but it can be useful in some cases. Access to recorded data on the memory card is possible on the web, and local connection via USB. In the first case, the files will be accessible from the browser for all network users, and a set of operations is limited to the following options: download, upload (up to 2 GB), delete a file or folder, create a new directory. If necessary, the administrator can choose one of the directories on the map to the public, as well as to limit the rights to “read only”.

Configuring and opportunities

In case you need to change the device settings such as the wireless network name or security key, you can do it through the web interface. It is available at www.huaweimobilewifi.com or 192.168.1.1. When entering no password, you can see the connection status, including standard network clients, session statistics on the traffic, the duration of the connection and your phone (if registered in the SIM-card). Administrator of the system can also change the password in the settings.

Comfortable enough, you can work with SMS-messages. So that the user is able to receive newsletters from the operator or activate additional services or services without having to reinstall SIM-card in the smart phone.

Among the settings for connecting, user can setup below the settings: Select the connection mode (automatic or manual), work in roaming network selection (auto, 2G, 3G or 4G), operator selection. It is possible to create or modify an access profile (APN, username and password), and managing PIN-code card.

Automatic configuration provides clients integrated server DHCP. In its settings you can change the router’s own address and the address range for clients.

The “Security” is perhaps the most interesting setting can be considered an indication of translation rules ports. However, the situation with the white» IP-addresses for mobile Internet access today, cannot take for wide use of this function. We also mention the firewall support customizable rules, DMZ, UPnP and SIP ALG.
