Alcatel Y900 LTE Router Review

Last year, Huawei was the only manufacturer that provided routers for LTE Advanced category 6 with download speeds of up to 300 Mbit/s offered in Europe. The Chinese company TCT Mobile has now also introduced the Alcatel Y900 hotspot LTE Cat6 modem on the market and provides this even considerably cheaper than the comparable Huawei E5786 router.  Today we will have a review about the new Alcatel Y900 4G Mobile hotspot.

Small in Pocket Size

The Alcatel Y900 LTE Hotspot is comparatively small and compact and weighs only 88 grams including the battery, considerably less than current smartphones. The body is made entirely of plastic, and is possible to remove the back to insert the battery, SIM card and a memory card. The Alcatel Y900 doesn’t have a display, instead, decorated with large LED which strips the front. The used mobile communications technology (2G, 3G, 4G) is signaled with lateral LEDs. In the test, the LED display made a good figure, with displaying consumed data volume, battery status and time spent online.

Fast Internet over LTE Cat6

The modem in Alcatel Y900 Hotspot supports speeds of up to 300 Mbit/s downstream and up to 50 Mbit/s upload speeds on the 4G mobile network. The LTE Advanced Cat6 has been activated at some locations in Europe and the tariff also allows these high speeds. Of course, the router is also backwards compatible with the previous LTE Stages Cat3 and Cat4, also of course, UMTS (3G) and GSM (2G) are supported. In the test under Telekom network, the speeds of almost 200 Mbit/s downstream and 50 Mbit/s in the upload can be achieved, which is very good compared with similar devices, even if the technical maximum speed was not reached initially. Which is important for many applications is latency when tested between 20 and 35 milliseconds in the LTE network of Telefónica O2. The reception was good, even with a weak signal, a speedy web surfing was still possible. Unfortunately, Alcatel Y900 has no external antenna to connect.

Dual Band WLAN and USB 3.0

For a mobile LTE router, not only a current and receiving strong Modem is important, but also a good Wi-Fi module and a fast USB or LAN connection, so devices such as computers, notebooks and tablets can also use the full internet speed of the modem. The Alcatel Y900 is well positioned here. The WLAN module works on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz (dual-band WLAN) and even supports the current and very fast 802.11ac standard. If you want to use the router to a computer without a WLAN, you benefit from the fast USB 3.0 interface – A relevant cable is already included.

Unfortunately the internet is not encrypted, so you can connect without a password to the network. As a user you should quickly assigned a unique password so that foreign users do not get access to the WLAN of Alcatel Y900.

Operation via browser or via app

The configuration of the Alcatel Y900 could be done either in a browser via the web interface or via an app for smartphones and tablets. Supplied with a small piece of paper, the QR codes for easy installation of the app is provided for an Android or iOS device. Both the app and the web interface in the browser are attractively designed and very easy to use. In addition to common settings for wireless connection, you can also receive and send text messages and access the data on the memory card. In the test, both the smartphone application and web interface worked always reliable and fast.

Approximately 5 hours of battery life

The Alcatel Y900 battery has a capacity of 1,800 mAh and is very easy replaceable by the user, ie you can buy extra batteries and thus survive even during long trips without external power supply if required. The operating time of the test was constant subjection to the LTE network in about 5 hours. According to Alcatel, there is a much more powerful battery with 3,600 mAh for the Y900 4G Router, thus a useful life of about 10 hours would be possible. But the version with high battery capacity is not yet available.

Conclusion for Alcatel Y900

Anyone looking for a fast and secure future LTE hotspot, can safely pick up the Alcatel Link Y900.The small router convinced with good data rates in the LTE network and a fast dual-band wireless. The Alcatel Y900 is optionally available in black or in white, and works with all SIM cards, a SIM lock or NET-Lock does not exist. Directly from the network operator with the contract, you can buy the Alcatel Y900 without a contract from www.4gltemall.com. An alternative more expensive model is Huawei E5786 hotspot, which provides a small display, a more powerful battery and connections for an external antenna compared to Alcatel Y900.

Huawei Mate S 4G LTE Smartphone Review

Huawei was previously known primarily as a manufacturer of cheap Android smartphones, routers, surf sticks and other network equipment. By Mate S, the manufacturer would now definitely in the premium smartphone segment. A high-quality metal case, a very good quality and innovative software features to the customer to purchase more.

High-quality metal body

Huawei provides the Mate S in the colors gray and champagne and delivers it in a high-quality acting cardboard box. The package includes a protective case, a power supply, a USB charging cable and a headset. The case protects the device very well and allowed the display of information through a small window with the front closed. Huawei did everything right for the body: It not only looks extremely good, it feels also very well and leaves a very high-quality impression. The entire back is made of metal, at the sides, the device is flat, so it is still neatly in your hand in spite of its enormous size. The entire front is covered with a laterally rounded glass, particularly in the use of swipe gestures is very pleasant. Next to the 13-megapixel camera, a fingerprint reader can be found, which is truly outstanding: The detection rate is very good and you can also use the sensor for gesture control to approximately scroll through galleries.

Fast processor and good LTE Modem

The Huawei Mate S we tested is a single-SIM version with combined MicroSD slot, the integrated memory of 32 GB and can therefore be expanded with a memory card. In other markets, there is also a dual-SIM version of the Huawei Mate S. The single-SIM version must be equipped with a nano-SIM card. The modem achieved up to 150 Mbit/s on LTE network, but may in the settings ” Carrier Aggregation “so LTE Advanced CAT6, are activated. This speeds up to 300 megabits per second in the downlink and 50 Mbit/s in the uplink are then possible with the Huawei Mate S. Of course, UMTS with up to 42.2 Mbit/s and GSM are supported together with EDGE. A bit of a shame: The Huawei Mate S can only use the 2.4 GHz frequency range at in the current WLAN standard AC, 5GHz is not supported. Given the high price that is incomprehensible, because other manufacturers already obstruct significantly cheaper smartphones with dual-band WLAN.

The processor in Mate S comes from Huawei subsidiary HiSilicon and has eight cores, each with up to 2.2 GHz clock rate. Along with the Android operating system and the user interface EMUI, the unit was very quick in the test and allowed a smooth operation. A special feature is the absence of a separate app menu, all apps are right on the home screens, so as it is known, for example from the Apple iPhone. For many users, this is certainly a good thing, since it facilitates the operation. Of course you can also install another launcher on the Google Play Store, so that again a separate app menu is available.

Camera with good night mode

The Huawei Mate S has two cameras, one with 13 megapixels on the back and an 8-megapixel on the front. The back camera has an optical image stabilizer, a two-color LED flash and has an aperture of f2.0. The photos were sharp and true color included in the test, particularly convinced night mode with which even in twilight very useful pictures can still be taken. Videos can record Full HD resolution, but Huawei waived 4K video.

Screen with “Knuckle Sense”

The AMOLED display of Huawei Mate S is 5.5 inches tall, has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and leaves a very good impression. In order to stand out from the competition, Huawei Mate S uses some software functions to improve the display. The so-called “Knuckle Sense” function allows you to take screenshots or the launch of Apps means knuckles. That works but not always reliable, sometimes the unit does not recognize the ankle and not performs the desired function. Another interesting feature is “Force touch”. Thus, the display should also recognize the pressure with which you press on the screen – something like the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus the 3D Touch technology. Unfortunately Force Touch is installed only in a premium version of Mate S, which is only available at some markets. The function would certainly have been interesting!

Conclusion: High-quality smartphone from Huawei

When Huawei Mate S is a premium smartphone – at least if you look at design, workmanship, materials and price. The technology is high, and LTE modem and processor is convincing with great photos and the speed. But there are also some negative points: WLAN missing in the 5 GHz range and the Knuckle Sense technology, for the operation of the display with the knuckles, does not seem mature. The Huawei Mate S is now available at www.4gltemall.com stores and mobile operators. If you like it, you can buy it.

Asus 4G-AC55U LTE Router Review

Asus offers the 4G-AC55U in December 2015,  which is a new LTE router for stationary use. The new 4G Router offers many connections and is supplied with a current WLAN 802.11ac radio module, allowing speeds of up to 867 Mbit/s via WLAN in the 5 GHz range. The integrated cellular modem could support peak up to 150 MBit/s in the downlink and up to 50 Mbit/s in the uplink with LTE networks, and UMTS and GSM are supported. The design is quite exceptional for an LTE router; there is a diamond pattern on the front and the radio antennas are designed visible clearly outside the housing.

With the Asus 4G-AC55U router, you can choose the Internet access via the mobile network (LTE, UMTS, GSM) or via an existing modem. For the mobile use, of course you need a SIM card (mini-SIM form factor) with a data plan, it does not matter whether it is a prepaid card or a contract card, the Asus 4G AC55U has no SIM lock and can be used with any tariff. If you want to use the router via an existing Internet connection, you need a modem (for example, a DSL or cable modem, depending on the connection). The Asus AC55U connects simply via the Gigabit WAN port to the modem, then the router acts as a pure Access Point.

According to the Asus official site, the 4G-AC55U could support LTE frequency bands at FDD Band 800 /1800 /2600Mhz and 4G TDD-LTE at 2500/2600MHz. Like other 4G LTE Router such as Huawei B890, 4G-AC55U is also backward with UMTS and GSM/GPRS networks.

The Asus AC55U 4G Router provides a very fast Wi-Fi connection compared with other models. The device transmits simultaneously to 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz on demand, thus reaching speeds of 300 + 786 MBit/s. Thus data-intensive applications such as UHD streams, online gaming and a NAS usage should be no problem. Alternatively, you can also use a four RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet ports on the back of the router for connecting devices with the Asus 4G AC55U. The wireless connection can be switched on and off on request with a switch on the back.

For the connection of a USB storage media, an USB 2.0 slot is available. So you can for example integrate an external hard drive in the network and retrieve content such as movies and photos directly on the smartphone or tablet. A printer can be integrated via USB to the network.

The Asus 4G AC55U is currently available at www.4gltemall.com . If you like it, you could order it.

TP-Link TL-MR6400 LTE Router Review

Following the top vendors, TP-Link presented new 4G LTE Router. The TP-link TL-MR6400 LTE router is now available in many European countries, such as Germany, Austria and Switzerland. With a budget price, the TP-MR6400 is rather low in comparison, but the router offers a decent equipment such as a 150 MBit/s LTE modem and wireless with up to 300 MBit/s. In addition to three RJ45 LAN ports, there is a fourth combined WAN/LAN port, so you can operate the TL-MR6400 also using an external cable, DSL or fiber optic modem.

External antennas and SIM Adapter
The TP-Link TL-MR6400 looks unspectacular; there are two external antenna on the body connecting to the router with a cellular modem. According to TP-Link, the antennas can be easily unscrewed by the user, if you prefer to use an LTE external directional antenna. For the operation of the modem, the router requires a SIM card in the standard mini SIM form factor, the adapters for Micro-SIM and nano-SIM are included, so any existing SIM card is ready for use immediately in the TL-MR6400.

LTE Cat4 Modem
The modem can be used at speeds up to 150 Mbit/s in the downlink and up to 50 Mbit/s in the uplink, this corresponds to LTE category 4 (Cat4). It supports the FDD-LTE frequency ranges 800, 900, 1800, 2100 and 2600 MHz in the TDD-LTE. Furthermore,  the TL-MR6400 supports dual band UMTS with up to 42.2 Mbit/s in the downlink and up to 5.76 Mbit/s in the uplink and quad-band GSM/EDGE.

Ethernet LAN and Wireless
Internet connection is passed either wirelessly via WLAN or via one of the four RJ45 network connections on terminals. The TL-MR6400 also supports Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n on 2.4 GHz with up to 300 MBit/s and has four 100 Mbit/s LAN ports. Here you can tell the competitive price, because Gigabit LAN would have been given the up to 150 MBit/s fast LTE modems, which is definitely required. With the 100 Mbit/s LAN ports, it is impossible to exploit the full LTE speed.

The TP-Link TL-MR6400 is  one of the best LTE router on the market. A constantly updated overview of all LTE router can be found at this link. If you prefer other brands, such as Huawei, ZTE, we would like to recommend Huawei B890 4G LTE Gateway. Actually, here now, the LTE category 6 wireless router Huawei E5186 is already available for long time, if you prefer latest possible download speed, Huawei E5186 would be the best option, but you may have to bear higher price.

Huawei 4G WiFi Cube E5180 Review

The telecom company “3” has introduced the Huawei E5180 4G mobile broadband router into the company’s product line, and now we have the new smart 4G router available.

The first thing you notice is the size. The entire dimensions of Huawei E5180 are 110 x 70 x 70 mm, not much bigger than a coffee mug, and on top, the router has a beautiful soft blue LED light that indicates that the router is turned on.

If the blue light is annoying, the E5180 4G WiFi Cube can be disconnected from the options menu, or simply by pressing down on the top of the router. Possibility to switch off the light is a welcome feature, since the blue light can be irritating.

huawei WiFi Cube E5180

Compared to some larger mobile broadband routers, it seems Huawei E5180 is elegant. On the front, there are two small blue LED light that indicates when the router has the connection to the mobile network and when there is Wi-Fi connection.

On the back of the Huawei E5180 Cube, there is an Ethernet port, a PSTN (phone) port and a plug for the power supply. The external power supply is white with white cord, and fits well with the small little beautiful router. You can install the SIM card at the bottom of the router. Also a flat Ethernet cable is included in the sales package, and this is also white.

Huawei 4G WiFi Cube E5180 logo

Technically, there is a Category 4 LTE modem supporting speeds up to 150 Mbit/s in 4G LTE and DC-HSPA+ up to 42 Mbit/s over 3G. The Huawei WiFi 4G Cube router supports the 4G FD-LTE on 800, 1800, 2100 and 2600 MHz. During our test, the Cube E5180 router showed the fine reception on 3’s 4G network.

Wi-Fi connection is at 2.4 GHz, and the router supports 802.11 b/g/n standards. N standard runs with MIMO 2 × 2, and according to the sales package, the Huawei Cube E5180 could cover up to 250 meters – this part could not quite be confirmed, but the range of Wi-Fi signal was quite acceptable. The Huawei WiFi Cube E5180 supports up to 32 connected Wi-Fi devices simultaneously.

Huawei 4G WiFi Cube E5180 SIM Card slot

The router has only Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz, and it is not possible to choose whether the router must use Wi-Fi B, G or N standard. The router uses all three standards, and it can not change.

However, it is possible that user can make four separate SSIDs (separate Wi-Fi network), but you can’t setup more advanced things such as bandwidth-limitation of the additional SSIDs. You can set up a SIP account if you wish to use the router PSTN jack to connect a landline phone on the router, and use it for Voice over IP telephone.

Huawei 4G WiFi Cube E5180 BOX

There is no possibility of connecting external antenna to this 4G WiFi Cube, so you must use the Huawei E5180 far from the nearest cell tower. The rate has been acceptable throughout the test.

Huawei 4G WiFi Cube E5180 Package details

Small, light and elegant

Two words can summarize Huawei E5180 could be “very good”. The Huawei 4G WiFi Cube is not designed to be an all-round solution like many of the other mobile broadband routers on the market. The E5180 router is designed to be small and elegant, and so easy to install that you basically only need to insert a SIM card. The router is nice and easy to use in everyday life. Huawei E5180 is an exciting 4G LTE router that fits perfectly in the frame. Good performance, easy to get started and fine speed. Huawei E5180 does really well.

Huawei Mate 8 4G LTE Phablet Available

Huawei has launched Mate 8 smartphone at CES 2016 in Las Vegas to the international market. The Huawei Mate 8 is a phablet(Phone and Tablet) with 6 inch display and dual SIM function. Like its predecessor model Huawei Mate 7, Huawei has built a particularly strong battery, the capacity is 4,000 mAh, which should allow an operating time of two days under normal use. In late November 2015, Huawei Mate 8 has already been presented to the Chinese market, the device was available in Europe from the end of January 2016.

Huawei built Mate 8 a display with a diagonal of 6 inches and a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD). As with the sister model huawei Mate S, the display is protected by a slightly rounded glass (“2.5D glass”). This causes the device itself should feel particularly well and in particular the gesture control is improved. Of course, the curved glass is also visually quite a looker. The internal memory is 32 gigabytes in size, and can be extended up to 128GB, the memory is 3 gigabytes via MicroSD memory card.

The processor comes with the Huawei Mate 8 is a HiSilicon Kirin 950. It is an octa-core processor with 2x 4 cores, which is manufactured in 16nm FinFET technology. Also the modem comes from the subsidiary HiSilicon, which works strangely only with up to 150 MBit/s in LTE network. The predecessor was still LTE Advanced Cat6 with up to 300 MBit/s. Wi-Fi is also supported, in addition to the 2.4 GHz band, whether Huawei also integrates the 5 GHz band is still unclear.

The Huawei Mate 8 will be available in Europe in late January 2016. The price is good without a contract, but the price will probably be a little cheaper at some online retail store such as www.4gltemall.com. The phablet will be in “Space Gray” color as well as in “Moonlight Silver”. People also know the Huawei Mate 8 since last year and it’s said that the Mate 8 is as good as iPhone 6, even better. We had tested the Huawei Mate 8, you can check the test report for Huawei mate 8. But whether it’s better or not, user would have their own opinion. It’s no doubt that the Huawei Mate 8 becomes a shinning star in the 4G LTE Smartphones.

Netgear Presented AirCard AC810S with LTE Cat11

Netgear has announced the first mobile hotspot AirCard AC810S with LTE Advanced category 11 at CES in Las Vegas. With LTE Cat11, the router reaches speeds of up to 600 megabits per second in the downlink, so that the device is twice as fast as the fastest development stage (category 6). Operation is carried out in a large color touch screen on the front, like the predecessor model Netgear AC790s.

In Europe, LTE Advanced Cat11 is currently not offered by any network operator, but Vodafone is planning the launch of LTE Advanced with more than 500 Mbit/s around mid-2016 and other network operators are sure to upgrade their networks accordingly. After the MWC in Barcelona , we suppose more terminals with LTE Cat11 or LTE cat12 will be coming onto the market.

Like older mobile LTE hotspots, Netgear sets the AC810S a comparatively very good quality. So the WLAN module supports dual-band operation on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz and it also supports the fast WLAN 802.11ac. Up to 15 devices can be connected with Netgear AC810S simultaneously via WLAN for Internet connection. On request, you can set up multiple SSIDs (network names) for guests and visitors as well as for private use. If you are at location with weak signal, you can connect an external antenna to the Aircard 810s to improve. The antenna connectors in the Netgear AC810S are two TS-9 ports. If you want to buy an external antenna for Netgear Aircard 810s, you can check below the antenna: http://www.4gltemall.com/4g-antenna-two-ts-9-connector.html

According to Netgear official site, the Netgear AC810S has a replaceable battery with capacity of 2930 mAh and the operating times of about 11 hours are possible for continued use. It comes with a so-called Jump Boost cable, which allows you to use the Netgear AirCard 810 hotspot to charge other devices such as smartphones and tablets.

LTE Cat11 with up to 600 MBit/s
The Netgear AC810S may take up to three 20 MHz wide frequency ranges bundle (Triple Carrier Aggregation). Depending on the configuration and frequency from the network operator, the Aircard 810s therefore could possibly reach up to 600 MBit/s in the downlink. In Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the network providers would take the carrier aggregation at the frequency ranges of 800, 1800 and 2600 MHz and both the German Telekom and the provider Swisscom have already announced wanting to put Carrier Aggregation the future.

Netgear has not yet announced whether the AirCard AC810S router will come onto the market. Even for the price, there are so far no details. Probably the AC810S LTE router will be more expensive than its predecessor, the Netgear AC790S with LTE Advanced Cat6 (300 MBit/s) without a contract. For more details and a detailed data sheet can be found on the website www.4gltemall.com .

Netgear AirCard 810S(AC810S-300) LTE Cat.11 Mobile Hotspot for Sprint

Netgear had presented a new LTE terminal “AC810S-300” to market recently. The Aircard AC810S hotspot has passed through the FCC at December 7, 2015. FCC ID is PY3AC810S.

The Netgear AC810S LTE Mobile hotspot could support multiple networks, such as FDD-LTE/TD-LTE/W-CDMA/CDMA2000. The Mobile networks include FDD-LTE 1900 (B2 / B25) / 1700 (B4) / 850 (B5) / 800 (B26) / 700 (B12) MHz, TD-LTE 2500 (B41) MHz, W-CDMA 1900 (II) / 850 (V) MHz, CDMA2000 1900 (BC1) / 800 and is certified by the (BC0 / BC10) MHz.

The Aircard 810s has been passed in the frequency of wireless LAN, standard corresponding to the IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac. Wireless LAN communication 5.xGHz band in addition to the 2.4GHz band are also made possible.

Netgear has many branch models, which has not be published, and the AC810S-300 is also the model number of unpublished terminal. It can be seen that it corresponds to previously announced AC810S series.

NETGEAR AirCard 810S is a mobile wireless LAN router that supports carrier aggregation and it is a LTE UE Category 11 and the key technologies of LTE-Advanced. Carrier aggregation corresponds to the 3 component carrier aggregation (3CC CA), the communication speed could reach the maximum downlink 600Mbps.

We had seen the sample with the US mobile operator Sprint logo on the device. It is believed that NETGEAR AirCard 810S will be introduced for the Sprint.

Huawei E5186 – First LTE Cat6 Router for A1

The first LTE Cat6 router Huawei E5186 arrived available for A1. Thanks to the introduction of LTE Carrier Aggregation  at the end of June 2015, so that bandwidth of up to 300 Mbit/s can be achieved. Thus, the Huawei E5186 router with appropriate tariff is ideal for work/surfing/games at home. The model number is huawei E5186s-22a, as we know, there is brother model Huawei E5186s-61a, which is for Australian market. If you are interested in the performance of this router, it’s necessary to see this test below.

In an unspectacular packaging, we find the E5186 router, a power cable, a LAN cable and a Quick Start Guide. In the brief instructions, we will discuss on the importance of the lamp, the connections and the installation of the SIM card. The Huawei E5186 router size is not smalle, dimensions are 194 x 177 x 64mm and lack of battery for stationary use.

On the front, we find LEDs that indicate the current operating status. The air vents are designed on the top and bottom. When working, the router is not hot, thanks to passive cooling, there is also no noise.

huawei E5186 LEDs

On the back we find a whole range of connections. In addition to the power connector, there is a USB port (for a network printer and USB Storage), 2 telephone lines and 4x Gigabit LAN ports. Behind the white panel, there is also the possibility to connect an antenna for better reception. If you want external antenna for Huawei E5186, we will recommend two antennas for your consideration. The micro-SIM card is inserted on the right side of body.

It’s simple to operate the E5186 LTE CPE: After insertion of SIM card and activation of the Power switch in the router, it would be connected with the mobile network after about 30 seconds. The Huawei E5186 router itself, brings the configuration of the connection automatically, manual input is unnecessary. And then other terminals can connect the WiFi and surf after the router connected with network. Those who then want to change the wireless network password or other settings, can do that on the router interface. The makes a very neat impression and you find yourself good at it rightly.

Huawei E5186 router offers the classic configuration via browser while there is another way to do the settings: The Huawei Mobile WiFi app. The app can be installed to the mobile phones or tablets by means of a clear user interface and wireless network settings.

Here, you can see the Huawei E5186 router technical features: It offers all common standards with WiFi 802.11b/g/n/ac at 2.4GHz / 5GHz Dual Band and supports up to 64 devices. The range of the wireless network is about 250 meters (without obstacles), the possible bandwidth is up to 1.1 Gbit/s. This is the WiFi standard 802.11ac including simultaneous use of 5 and 2.4 GHz bands. In order to exploit the full speed, you need a corresponding network environment.

The Huawei E5186 4G/LTE router supports mentioned LTE Cat6, and thus enabling download speed of up to 300Mbit/s. Of course, it also supports all other standards, so LTE Cat4, HSDPA (Dual Cell) and EDGE or GRPS. The range was great in the practical test: I have measured 80 Mbit/s with LTE Carrier Aggregation without that latency. Surfing speed was particularly impressive. Since LTE provides really good value!

The reception of Huawei E5186 can also be improved with an external antenna if necessary. The antenna connector is SMA socket, here we have two external antenna for Huawei E5816. They both work well in real test:

Antenna one for Huawei E5186:

You can buy the antenna from here:

http://www.4gltemall.com/huawei-b593-4g-antenna.html

Antenna two for Huawei E5186:

You can buy this antenna from here:

Conclusion

For those who need fast Internet at home or a more remote region, we can recommend the Huawei E5186 router: it is ready to go, offers a number of setting options and a very stable and fast wireless internet. As a result, the E5186 LTE router is not only suitable for working or surfing, but also to play. But this also depends on the network coverage. The LTE Cat6 are already covered in more and more cities over the world and LTE latencies are generally low. We suppose the Huawei E5186 is a future proof LTE Wireless router, it’s worthy to buy!

If you ask whether there is similar LTE Cat6 router, there is still Huawei router to recommend. The model number is Huawei E5175. It’s a brother model like E5786, but not well-known.

Huawei E5186 LTE Router Available for 3 Austria

After 3HuiTube, there is a new model 3HuiGate offered by 3 Austria. Although the name seems rather strange, behind the marketing name hides an original model name: the Huawei E5186 LTE router. The device supports LTE Cat6 for speeds of up to 300 MBit/s in the downlink and up to 50 Mbit/s in the uplink, and there are fast Dual Band WLAN, Gigabit LAN and USB port. The 3HuiTube router also provides a phone function along with two ports for connecting analog phones.

3HuiGate = Huawei E5186

Although the Huawei E5186 LTE router is already almost 2 years old (the model was introduced in February 2014), it is still very topical. Most recently, the largest Austrian mobile provider has received A1 rout in its portfolio. The unit is also available at Germany for network Telekom and named as Speedbox LTE III.

We had introduced Huawei E5186 as a solid LTE router with many features. But the price is in high range without contract, but 3HuiTube is to have clearly more favorable in conjunction with a data plan.

LTE Category 6: up to 300 MBit/s

The 3HuiGate is one of the few LTE router that supports LTE at a rate of up to 300 MBit/s in the downlink. The technology behind it is called LTE Advanced Cat6. Using Carrier Aggregation are bundled here two frequency ranges and increased the speed. In order for the high data rates, Huawei E5186 have been installed four RJ45 Gigabit LAN sockets. In addition, the data transmission via WLAN 802.11ac with up to 866 MBit/s is possible. The 3HuiGate supports Dual Band WLAN at 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.

Besides the function as an Internet router, you can use the 3HuiTube with the USB 2.0 interface as network storage, so a corresponding USB memory must be connected. Media such as music, videos and other files are then available in the home network.

The Huawei E5186 has two RJ11 phone ports on the back. Two analog telephones can be connected, which is done via VoIP telephone or mobile network. The router can not support VoLTE currently. Also on the back you will find two type SMA connections for an external antenna. You can refer below the external antenna for 3HuiGate:

Comparison: 3HuiTube and 3HuiGate

By 3HuiGate and 3HuiTube, the Austrian provider “3” has brought two new LTE routers to market within a short time. Here, the 3HuiTube is in good design but do not have the latest and fastest technology. The 3HuiTube is considerably cheaper than the 3HuiGate, but still offers speeds of up to 150 MBit/s via LTE. For most customers, the connection speed is certainly more than adequate.
The 3HuiGate aimed at high-end users and it’s a future proof router. And it is also useful for more sophisticated home network, such as the 4 Gigabit LAN interfaces or through the 2 connectors for external antennas.

From the simple comparison, you may conclude which 4G router is best for you. You can also check more 4G LTE router on www.4gltemall.com .
