Quectel RG255AA 5G RedCap Module

Quectel RG255AA series is developed based on the Aojie Technology 5G chip platform ASR1903, compliant with the 3GPP R17 standard. It supports 5G standalone networking and covers the mainstream 5G frequency bands from 450 MHz to 6 GHz. The module offers a maximum download speed of 226 Mbps and an upload speed of 120 Mbps, supporting a maximum 20 MHz RF bandwidth to ensure stable network connectivity.

Quectel RG255AA series excels in power consumption performance, which is critical for many IoT applications. It employs various power-saving technologies such as C-DRX, eDRX, RRM measurement relaxation, WUS, etc., to further reduce energy consumption across different devices and extend battery life.

The module supports dual operating systems: RTOS and Linux, along with optional features like VoNR, VoLTE, DFOTA, and more, easily meeting the diverse needs of voice functionality and software upgrades for various 5G vertical applications. It also offers a wide range of peripheral interfaces, including USB 2.0, PCIe 2.0, SPI, and others, providing flexible adaptation to customer terminals and addressing the challenges of different network environments and terminal devices.

Designed for the global market, the Quectel RG255AA series offers two versions: RG255AA-CN and RG255AA-EU, catering to the frequency band coverage requirements of different countries and regions. It adopts LGA packaging and laser engraving technology, making it easy to integrate into various terminal designs, especially for customers with automation production needs.

Notably, the module is pin-to-pin compatible with certain LTE Cat 4 modules in the Quectel EC2x series, which means that existing Cat 4 customer terminals can smoothly upgrade to 5G RedCap, greatly simplifying the upgrade process and providing a more convenient and efficient upgrade experience for relevant customers.
