Huawei VR

After releasing the high-end Huawei P9 and P9 plus smartphone, Huawei presents the a new VR headset, which is said to be the first VR glass to offer 360-degree sound field on the go according to Huawei, as long as you have the right content loaded and your own headphones plugged in. Huawei will ensure compatibility with the recently launched Huawei P9 Plus, new flagship Huawei P10 Plus, Mate 9 & Mate 9 Pro.

The Virtual Reality headset could be an important market for every smartphone maker today, and it's targeting as a major market and focus area going forward. Huawei VR will bring tough competition to its rivals such as Samsung Gear VR, HTC Vive or Oculus Rift VR Headset. Huawei VR looks almost identical to the Samsung VR Headset, and works in a similar way as Samsung's counterparts: Just pop the front cover open, then secure the phone (with the VR app running, of course) using the clips inside, and then snap the cover back on.

On the right side of Huawei VR, there is a touchpad with a back button and volume controller for interfacing with the app. On the top of the VR glass, there is an adjustment ring for focusing. The front panel decorated with shiny glossy glass that can create mirror effect, user can also clearly see his face. Along with the Huawei VR headset, Huawei also offers up to 4000 movies, 40 free games, 350 panoramic images and 150 panoramic tours to attract users’ attentions for best VR experiences.

Regarding the Huawei VR specifications, it can display 360-degree video such as games or movies. Users will get the usual 20ms low latency and 95-degree field of view (it's 96 degrees on Samsung's Gear VR and 110 on the HTC Vive plus the Oculus Rift). There is also an anti-blue light filter for extra protection against eyestrain.
