The chapter covers the following topics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Diagnostics<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>The WiFi Network Name Is Not in the List of Networks<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>The No Signal Icon Displays<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Cannot Log In to the Mobile Router Using a VPN<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>The Mobile Router Cannot Connect to a Computer Running Windows Vista<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>The Mobile Router Does Not Connect to the Cellular Network<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Diagnostics of Netgear Nighthawk M1<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>To view diagnostics: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>From a computer that is connected to your network, launch a web browser.<\/li>\n<li>Enter <strong>http:\/\/m.home <\/strong>or <strong>http:\/\/192.168.1.1<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>A login page displays.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>Enter the administrator login password.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The password is case-sensitive.<\/p>\n<p>The dashboard displays.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li>Select <strong>Settings &gt; Mobile Router Status &gt; DIAGNOSTICS<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The Diagnostics page displays.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The WiFi Network Name Is Not in the List of Networks<\/p>\n<p>If you do not see the <strong><u>Netgear Nighthawk M1 mobile router<\/u><\/strong>\u2019s WiFi networks from your computer or mobile device, try these suggestions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Refresh the list of networks.<\/li>\n<li>If the LCD is dark, the WiFi radio might be asleep. Press the <strong>Power <\/strong>button to wake the M1 mobile router.<\/li>\n<li>If the mobile router is tethered to your computer, make sure that WiFi is set to stay on when the mobile router is tethered. See <em>Use the USB Type C Cable to Charge Only<\/em> in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.4gltemall.com\/blog\/how-to-use-netgear-nighthawk-m1-gigabit-router\/\">How to Use Netgear Nighthawk M1 Router<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The No Signal Icon Displays<\/p>\n<p>If the No Signal icon displays on either the LCD or the mobile router web page, make sure that you are in your network service provider\u2019s coverage area.<\/p>\n<p>Cannot Log In to the Mobile Router Using a VPN<\/p>\n<p>If you are using your mobile router while connected to a VPN, you might not be able to access the mobile router web page using http:\/\/m.home.<\/p>\n<p>To directly access the mobile router web page hosted on the device, enter the address <strong>http:\/\/192.168.1.1 <\/strong>in your browser.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Mobile Router Cannot Connect to a Computer Running Windows Vista<\/p>\n<p>A known issue exists whereby computers running Microsoft Windows Vista cannot obtain an IP address from certain <a href=\"https:\/\/www.4gltemall.com\/4g-wireless-router.html\"><strong>4G routers<\/strong><\/a>. More information and a fix are available at <em>support.microsoft.com\/kb\/928233, <\/em>or visit the Microsoft support website and search for knowledge base article 928233.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Mobile Router Does Not Connect to the Cellular Network<\/p>\n<p>If your Nighthawk M1 mobile router does not connect to your service provider\u2019s mobile broadband network, try the following suggestions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Make sure that your SIM account is active. To check SIM status, contact your Internet service provider.<\/li>\n<li>If you use a prepaid SIM card, make sure that the account balance is positive.<\/li>\n<li>If your mobile router still does not connect, you might need to create or update the default connection profile.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>From a computer that is connected to your network, launch a web browser.<\/li>\n<li>Enter <strong>http:\/\/m.home <\/strong>or <strong>http:\/\/192.168.1.1<\/strong>. A login page displays.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the mobile router password. The password is case-sensitive. The dashboard displays.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Settings &gt; Advanced Settings &gt; Cellular<\/strong>.
