{"id":5103,"date":"2017-11-17T16:25:34","date_gmt":"2017-11-17T08:25:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.4gltemall.com\/blog\/?p=5103"},"modified":"2017-12-06T15:57:34","modified_gmt":"2017-12-06T07:57:34","slug":"3-5ghz-may-be-the-5g-frequency-band","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.4gltemall.com\/blog\/3-5ghz-may-be-the-5g-frequency-band\/","title":{"rendered":"3.5GHz May Be the 5G Frequency Band"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The development of the next mobile communication standard 5G is progressing.\u00a0Now it becomes clear that the frequency range of around 3.5 gigahertz will be the basis for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.4gltemall.com\/5g-modem.html\">5G <\/a>mobile networks worldwide.\u00a0Confirmed Eros Spadotto from Canadian provider TELUS at the Huawei Global Mobile Broadband Forum in London.\u00a0Even the network outfitter Huawei pleads for this frequency range\u00a0in a position paper, summarizes it at 3.3 to 4.2 GHz but something further.\u00a0Frequency spectrum in the range between 3.4 GHz and 3.8 GHz will be awarded in 2018 in many European countries, including a corresponding frequency auction is planned in Germany.\u00a0In Canada, according to TELUS, an auction is expected in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.4gltemall.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/5G-technology.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5126\" src=\"https:\/\/www.4gltemall.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/5G-technology.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"907\" height=\"510\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.4gltemall.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/5G-technology.jpg 907w, https:\/\/www.4gltemall.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/5G-technology-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.4gltemall.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/5G-technology-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 907px) 100vw, 907px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>5G Network Frequency: 3.5 GHz to start<\/h2>\n<p>The frequency range around <a href=\"https:\/\/www.4gltemall.com\/ue-by-spectrum\/band-42-ues.html\">3.5 GHz <\/a>will be available worldwide in many countries for mobile phone use.\u00a0However, the area is not exactly defined yet, in most countries preparations are currently underway for the allocation of frequencies to the mobile network operators and the exact &#8220;limits&#8221; of the auctioned radio spectrum are not yet known.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.4gltemall.com\/4g-brand\/Huawei.html\/\">Huawei<\/a> speaks in its\u00a0position paper\u00a0from the C-band, more specifically between 3.3 to 4.2 and 4.4 to 5.0 GHz.\u00a0In order to expand 5G networks in a timely manner, the core range between 3.3 and 3.8 gigahertz is important, according to Huawei, and should be made available to network providers as quickly as possible.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Some carriers in Europe uses the frequency range of 3.7 GHz in its 5G test network in Berlin, where it reaches speeds of 2 GBit\/s, and the range is around 400 meters.\u00a0The network provider expects the launch of the first 5G networks in exactly this frequency range, more specifically\u00a0between 3.5 GHz and 3.9 GHz\u00a0.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.4gltemall.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/cognitive-radio-in-5g.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5110\" src=\"https:\/\/www.4gltemall.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/cognitive-radio-in-5g.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"638\" height=\"479\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.4gltemall.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/cognitive-radio-in-5g.jpg 638w, https:\/\/www.4gltemall.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/cognitive-radio-in-5g-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 638px) 100vw, 638px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>5G: more frequency ranges later<\/h2>\n<p>Although the range around 3.5 GHz will probably be used in many countries worldwide as a &#8220;base band&#8221; for 5G: significantly more radio spectrum is needed to achieve the need for bandwidth on the one hand and very good network coverage on the other.\u00a0Huawei proposes three different &#8220;layers&#8221; in its position paper: the 3.5 GHz band should be\u00a0sufficient\u00a0as a &#8220;<em>coverage and capacity layer<\/em>&#8221; for most applications.\u00a0On the other hand, very high speeds will demand significantly more radio spectrum, which will then be made available in the &#8220;<em>Super Data Laye<\/em>\u00a0&#8221; &#8211; probably in the cmWave range around 28 gigahertz.\u00a0Bruno Jacobfeuerborn, head of technology at Germany Telekom,\u00a0assumes that at the start of 5G in the year 2020, this &#8220;super data layer&#8221; is not available, but only later expanded.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The third very important part in the 5G frequency spectrum is the so-called &#8220;<em>Coverage Layer<\/em>&#8220;.
