More and more mobile broadbands available on the market with HSPA+ technology, today, we overview the HSPA+ USB Modems and 3G routers available or unavailable for users’ reference.

Option iCon 505 +: The iCon 505 + option is presenting its first HSPA + surf stick. It delivers up to 21.6 Mbit/s downstream and up to 5.76 Mbit / s upstream.

 

Huawei B683: This is the first “real” HSPA+ router from Huawei. He is the successor of the Huawei B970b (Speedport HSPA) probably hit the market in mid-2011 and support HSPA + at 28.8 Mbit/s downstream. Huawei E182E (E1823): This stick is one of the first of its kind, it was presented in February 2009 at MWC and was used by the  Telekom Germany , A1 Telekom Austria, Orange Austria, T-Mobile Austria (Web Stick Pro) Entel in Chile, Bell Mobility and Telus in Canada. But for T-Mobile, the model E1823 incorporates the new hardware revision. Technically, it has mastered all HSPA and HSPA + standards with up to 28.8 Mbit/s downstream, and upload of 5.76 Mbit/s can be achieved. It supports the UMTS frequencies 2100/1900/900/850MHz and quadband GSM. An external antenna connection is available.

 

Huawei E1820: This is the little brother of the E182E, it has the same specifications except for the detail that it only supports the 2100MHz UMTS band. The stick is from O2 for the pilot test in Munich and used by Hutchison 3 on österreichen and Swedish markets. The device has an external antenna connection.

Huawei E1831 : The device will be sold by T-Mobile in the U.S. market. HSPA + download speed is achieved in up to 21.6 Mbit/s. The upload is at 5.67 Mbit/s.

Huawei E270 : The UMTS modem is the first device for HSPA+. It was in 2009, the start of the world’s first HSPA + network in Austria available at A1. In the download is 21.6 Mbit / s (28.8 Mbit/s for an update) and 5.67 Mbit / s upload. The modem is no longer marketed by A1. As the successor to the sets A1, a UMTS stick Huawei E182E..

ZTE K4505-Z (MF668): Caution, in case of confusion! Also this model is sold by Vodafone (currently in England and Germany), but it is only in name with the Huawei related. In addition, the stick is sold as MF668 with Rogers in Canada. It has an external antenna port and supports UMTS on Frequenzen850MHz, 1900MHz and 2100MHz and quad band GSM. A slot for microSD card is also included.
