Netgear AirCard 790s Mobile LTE Hotspot

Since early 2016, the Netgear AirCard 790 Mobile Hotspot with LTE Advanced Cat6 and large touch screen display is available in the market. The device is priced settled in direct comparison with the competitors of Huawei E5786 and Alcatel One Touch Y900. In LTE network, the router can reach up to 300 Mbit/s, the connection to the connected devices runs through MicroUSB 3.0 or Dual Band WLAN ac. We will check the detailed features of Aircard 790s.

Netgear Aircard AC790S (1)

The Netgear AirCard 790 router is supplied in a small cardboard box. In addition to the device itself, you will find a power supply with an output of 5 volts at 1 amp and a USB to Micro-USB 3.0 cable included. The power supply has a modular design and is supplied with an “adapter” for the common use in Europe socket. This of course is useful if you want to make even a holiday or a business trip. Besides the normal USB cable, another short “Jump Boost Cable” can also be found yet in the package. This allows you to connect an ordinary USB charging cable and thus the use of the Netgear AirCard 790 for charging other devices ( “Power Bank”).

Holding the Netgear AirCard 790 hotspot for the first time in his hand, this feels good. The workmanship is good and the weight of 136 grams including battery is completely pocket-fit. Also the large display is on the front, which is easy to read. But more on that later.

Netgear Aircard AC790S (2)

 LTE Advanced Cat6

The Netgear AC790 Hotspot has a current LTE multimode modem Qualcomm MDM9230 that for LTE Advanced category 6 ( “Cat6”) with up to 300 Mbit/s supported in the downlink. In the uplink up to 50 Mbit/s are possible. In the test with a mobile data plan, around 200 Mbit/s can be achieved, the ping time was on average about 25 milliseconds. The data rates fluctuated quite widely depending on the radio cell and the time of day, but this is quite normal.

The reception at the LTE network on 800 and 1800 MHz was good, better than many smartphones. If necessary, you can receive and data rates with an external antenna optimized to stand side of the AirCard 790 Router (two TS-9 connectors). The terminals are protected by a small sliding mechanism from dust.

Netgear Aircard AC790S (3)

Of course, the Netgear AC790 is also the 3G/UMTS network backward compatible, here are DC-HSPA+ up to 42.2 Mbit/s in the downlink and up to 5.76 Mbit/s in the uplink possible. 2G and the GSM network is not supported, although Netgear advertises on its homepage partially. This is unusual for a mobile hotspot. But since 4G is now the mainstream and 3G is now widely used, 2G may not be necessary now in most areas.

WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS

Up to 15 devices can be powered wirelessly over WLAN with an Internet connection at the same time from Netgear AirCard 790s router. The connection is made either in the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz range, thanks to the 2 × 2 MIMO antenna technology and Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, speeds of up to 1,200 Mbit/s. Fast enough to see the full LTE speed to use Cat6. The WLAN range was in the test quite well, the data rates increase – particularly in the 5 GHz band – but very quickly, as soon as a wall is between the router and the terminal. On request, you can also use USB ( “USB Tethering”) for connection and the WLAN can be optionally completely disable.

Netgear Aircard AC790S (4)

The Netgear AC790 supports both multi-SSID as well as a guest-Fi function. So you can, for example, separate the private network from another shared WiFi network. On the maximum number of connected devices that are not altered, the number of 15 devices refers to all wireless networks simultaneously.

Operation and Software

While many mobile LTE routers provide a small display for displaying important information, but the setup and configuration of the device usually requires a computer or at least a smartphone app. When Netgear AirCard 790 hotspot that is different, the router has a large touchscreen display on the front, so that the web interface normally is not required. Operation is self-explanatory thanks to large icons and clear labels, the capacitive display reacts quickly and properly. At the side of the display, there is “back” two soft-touch buttons and “Home”, which are also self-explanatory. The display switches off after a short delay and without actuation independently, so that the energy consumption is not too high. A bright LED above the display then informs about the operating status.

Netgear Aircard AC790S (5)

On the home page or the “home screen” all relevant information are clearly displayed, for example, the battery level, the number of connected devices, the used data volume and the network operator. Even the SMS function is easily available on the touch screen display, even if the keyboard is of course advised quite small.

Battery with Power Bank Function

The battery of the Netgear AirCard 790 hotspots has a capacity of 2,930 mAh and is easily replaceable by the user. The Aircard 790s can be charged via USB cable, including power supply, but also easy to charge with a possibly existing smartphone PSU including microUSB port. The operating time is about 11 hours according to Netgear. In the test, this figure could be reached fairly accurate.

With the included “Jump Boost cable”, the Netgear AirCard 790 hotspot can be also used for charging other devices, such as smartphones. Although this is not very efficient, a full battery charge may not be possible in most smartphones, but the Jump Boost function definitely interesting for a short “recharging”.

Netgear Aircard AC790S (6)

Optional Docking Station

Netgear provides for the AirCard Hotspot series of two docks that extend the mobile hotspot to a “real” stationary LTE router. The two devices are called DC112A and DC113A, where currently only the DC113A is available. The Cradle DC112A is significantly better equipped than the DC113A dock, so you get the DC112A as four Gigabit LAN ports, one Gigabit WAN port, two high-performance WLAN antennas and an improved WLAN module. The connections for an external mobile antenna are “looped through”, so that one also can connect an external antenna LTE (2x TS-9 connector) at DC112A.

Network Preferences-network mode

Conclusion: Netgear AirCard 790

The Netgear AirCard AC790S Hotspot could convince in the test with a large variety of functions and the latest technology. The modem is fast and the Internet connection even with frequent cell Jump stable, the WLAN module scores with good data rates and many setting options. Some prospective customers will also complain about the lack of WiFi Extender function. The Aircard 790s is offered at good price than its competitors. It’s a recommended 4G pocket router with aggressive price!

Difference Between Huawei E5577 and E5573

Huawei E5 Mobile WiFi family have new members in the past year. Except the hot Huawei E5786 LTE Category 6 mobile hotspot, we also got the Huawei E5577 and E5573 4G LTE Category 4 mobile hotspot. You may feel puzzled about the name of the two mobile hotspot. They are too similar that we cannot tell what’s real difference between. That’s why we write this article today. Let’s check what’s the real difference and make a clue to the customers who are interested in them.

Huawei-E5573 vs E5577 MIFI

Appearance

If you only hear the name, you don’t have imagination about the two mobile routers. But if you get the two routers in hand, you will see there is obvious difference:

Huawei E5577 has a 1.45 inch TFT LCD screen, at the left side of the screen, it’s the logo; and at the right side, the power button. Huawei E5573 has no screen, the power button is at the middle of the top body. At the left side of the power button, it’s the signal strength indicator while the battery indicator at the right side. From this point, Huawei E5577 seems more friendly, because user can read the information about network providers, network signal, WiFi connected users, battery status, WiFi name and password on the screen.

Huawei E5577 is thicker than E5573 even though they both has the same battery capacity of 1500mAh. And their battery can be removed so that user can insert the SIM card under the battery.

Technical Specifications

Huawei E5577 and E5573 are both LTE mobile hotspots based on LTE Category 4, so they could both support the peak download speed to 150Mbps and upload speed to 50mbps on FDD-LTE networks. While on TD-LTE network, the peak download speed to 112mbps and upload speed to 10Mbps. And they both support up to 11 wireless terminals to access internet simultaneously. Similarly, the 3G UMTS/DC-HSPA+ and GSM/EDGE networks are backward. And the speed on DC-HSPA+ network could reach 43.2Mbps, which is good for most users.

Huawei E5573 and E5577 both have the connectors for external antennas. The connector type is TS-9, so if you are located at areas with weak network coverage, an external antenna may be necessary so that to get better surfing experience. Below are the recommended external indoor and outdoor antenna for Huawei E5577 and E5573:

Huawei E5577/E5573 4G Indoor External Antenna:

From the technical specifications, we can see the two mobile hotspot are too similar that we believe the manufacturer Huawei just re-design the appearance to distinguish them. The core data are kept same for markets demands. So if you are interested in them, we can only tell the Huawei E5577 is more user-friendly. Other features are very similar that you can ignore.

huawei E5573 MIFI SIZE

One more important note is that the two routers both has many sub-models, which could support multiple LTE(TDD or FDD) bands. You must check carefully if you want to buy them. You need check your local network and then decide which one is for you.

Difference Between Netgear Aircard AC790s and AC782S

Netgear Aircard 4G mobile hotspots are one series of most popular 4G pocket routers. From the gain of Sierra Wireless, Netgear followed the appearance of the aircards but improved much on the functions and performance. In the aircard family, there are Aircard AC754S, AC770S, AC771S, AC779S, AC778S, AC762S, AC760S, AC763S for LTE Category 3. Now the LTE Category 4 mobile hotspot includes Netgear AC781S, AC782S, AC785S.

Netgear AC790S VS Aircard AC782s hotspot

What amazing is that the Netgear had presented the LTE Category 6 mobile hotspots to public. Many customers are already using the new LTE Cat6 router. The model number is Netgear Aircard 790s. If you had used the Aircard 782S, you may found the two 4G mobile hotspot looks very similar. It’s the first impression at a glance. They are both introduced by Australian network provider Telstra. The Netgear AC782S is also named Telstra 4G WiFi Advanced while the Aircard 790s is named Telstra 4G WiFi Advanced II. As two generation mobile 4G Router for Telstra, we will have a look at what’s the difference between the two models.

Telstra 4G WiFi Advanced & II compasion

Appearance

Even though the Aircard 790s and 782s look similar, there are obvious model named printed on the device. The 4G Advanced is on the 782s and 4G Advanced II on the 790s. The Telstra logo is  at right top side. The body color of 782s is in grey. The body color of Netgear AC790s is darker than 782s, it’s in black color. The thickness of the two models are very similar to 15mm. On the front center, there are 2.4 inch QVGA capacitive LCD screen, where user can operate the settings and read information about the network status, providers, WiFi name and password, battery status etc.

The power buttons are at the top edge of the body. The USB port and two antenna connectors for external antenna are at the bottom edge. The two mobile hotspots could both be easily operated via the LCD screen. User could choose network mode, do the factory reset, update software by clicking the screen. If user want to do more settings, it can be done via web browser or via the Netgear management APP.

Telstra WiFi 4G Advanced II Aircard 790s

Price

There is no doubt that the Aircard 790s is in higher price than 782s because AC79S is in higher specifications and better performance. For most users, the Netgear Aircard 782s is enough for common use on daily life, but if you want to surf in amazing speed, Netgear Aircard 790s would be better. But first of all, user must make sure the LTE category 6 carrier aggregation is already available at your location.

Osprey 2 (Alcatel Y853) 4G Pocket Router Review

We had introduced the first generation Osprey MiFi last year and now the second generation comes out and it’s named EE Osprey II (or Osprey 2) Mini router. It’s customized by the network provider EE in UK. Also like Osprey MiFi, it’s also from the vendor Alcatel One Touch. The first Osprey MiFi comes from the factory model Alcatel Y855 and now the Osprey 2 comes from the Alcatel Y853.

Alcatel Y853 Ospray 2 4G Mini Router

Frankly speaking, the two Osprey MiFi are similar on appearance and even functions. The Osprey 2 MiFi also has a SIM card slot, with a valid SIM card, user can access internet freely. Up to 10 wireless terminals could connect to the Osprey 2 and surf. The Osprey 2 mini router is in pocket size and user can take it easily in hand or pocket. It’s a good partner for business men or traveler to take it around the world.

The colors of Osprey 2 router is very attractive, in black body and colorful round edge. The outside edge is surrounded by a bright yellow slightly rubbery plastic that gives a little protection from drops. Going around the edge one side has the power button that also serves as a 4 LED power level indicator, the second has a sim draw for the nano sim – this takes a tool to lever open. The third side has a microUSB and full size USB port as well as a recessed reset switch and the fourth side is blank.

Alcatel Y853 Ospray 2 4G Mini Router

On the top size, the EE logo is printed and the LEDs show the strength of the network signal which is connected to. It also shows the 3G or 4G connection and if you have any SMS messages on the account. On the back sticker, we can see the model number, WiFi name and password for WiFi.

The Osprey 2 mini router could support peak download speed to 100mbps and upload speed to 50mbps on LTE networks available. It could support LTE network on frequency band 3, 7 and 20 (800/1800/2600Mhz), which means it could work well with almost all the countries in Europe and Asia. Sometimes, if the LTE/4G network is not available, it will automatically switch to 3G UMTS networks. With DC-HSPA+ technology, the peak download speed could reach 42mbps. The WiFi work on 802.11 b/g/n on single band 2.4GHz, 5GHz band is just missed.

Alcate Y855 Y854 Y853

The Alcatel Y853 will still use the micro SIM to get network. The battery capacity is 1500mAh, which is just enough for one day use. Here now, there are many 4G mobile hotspot with large power volume, such as Huawei E5770. The Alcatel Y853 is just OK for usual life. If you want to extend the working time, a mobile power bank may be necessary and this will be a good solution for the Osprey 2 battery concern.

Alcatel Y853 Ospray 2 4G Mini Router

What’s more attractive is that the Osprey 2 (Alcatel Y853) has a very good price for personal use. User just need pay around 100 USD to get the 4G mobile pocket router, which means the Osprey 2 is almost the cheapest 4G mobile router over the world. If you usual go outdoor, travel around the world or take trip for business, we recommend the Alcatel Y853 for you.

However, if you want 4G pocket router with higher specifications, you have many options here: http://www.4gltemall.com/3g-4g-pocket-wifi/300mbps-mobile-wifi.html

ZyXEL WAH7706 LTE Cat6 Hotspot Review

ZyXEL offers the cheap LTE-Advanced Cat6 Hotspot WAH7706 in January 2016. You can get the small portable LTE router with replaceable battery, which can reach up to 300 Mbit/s download speed. Up to 32 devices can be connected via the integrated WLAN ac simultaneously with an internet connection. The ZyXEL WAH7706 is in direct competition with other vendors such as Huawei, Netgear and Alcatel one touch. Today, we will have a look at what’s the key features of the new ZyXEL WAH7706 mobile hotspot.

ZyXEL WAH7706

The ZyXEL WAH7706 LTE Hotspot is packed in a nondescript cardboard box. In addition to the router, a USB to microUSB cable can be found in the packaging, with which the battery can be recharged. There is also a good guide that contains all the instructions and information for controlling the WAH7706 and through many images is easy to understand. Unfortunately (but maybe only in my tester is the case) the instructions in English, and a power adapter is not included, so you need to use to an existing power supply with USB connector and the USB cable to charge the WAH7706 from PC. But it should not be a big problem because most users should always have at least one suitable power supply from their mobile phone at home.

At first glance, the ZyXEL WAH7706 appears quite small and compact. At the sides, the device is flat, so the router is very well in hand. Overall, however, the design is very spectacular and the mirrored front is more disruptive than helpful, especially when it comes to read the small or low-light display on the front. There is the micro-USB port, so you can not connect an external LTE antenna. But you can remove and replace the rear battery, which is also not so necessarily common. The SIM card should be present in the MicroSIM format, but a nano-sim with adapter is also no problem.

ZyXEL WAH7706

LTE-Advanced Cat6

The ZyXEL WAH7706 is one of the fastest LTE router on the market, the modem allows speeds of up to 300 Mbit/s downstream and up to 50 Mbit/s upstream via LTE Category 6. The internet connection was very stable and reliable in the test, presumably a chipset from Qualcomm works in WAH7706. In Telekom’s LTE network in 1800 MHz, data rates up to 200 Mbit/s could be achieved, the latency was up to 20 milliseconds in the Vodafone LTE network. Both readings are of course highly individual and depend on various external factors, ie there are some large deviations upwards and downwards.

The ZyXEL WAH7706 supports LTE bands 3, 7, 8, 20, 28 and 38 and can be used in addition to LTE, and of course UMTS and GSM networks. The use abroad is no problem, only in North America there may be restrictions on multiple vendors, as there usually different frequency ranges are used. It is generally advisable to look before buying, which frequency bands are required, if the router is to be taken more often when traveling to other countries.

Thus the fast LTE Cat6 connection arrives and including connected terminals, of course, a powerful wireless radio module is necessary. The ZyXEL WAH7706 here offers dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, thus allowing simultaneous operation at 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. This is in view of the comparatively low price is not self-evident and therefore definitely worth a praise! Up to 32 devices can be connected simultaneously via WLAN with the Hotspot, which is very powerful than other similar devices. As we know, most LTE mobile hotspot could support only 10 or more to 15 wireless terminals simultaneously. The similar model Huawei E5786 is integrated a wireless extender or repeater, unfortunately this function is not available in WAH7706.

The battery has a capacity of 2800 mAh and is easily replaceable by the user. According to ZyXEL, the WAH7706 provides thus an operating time of approximately 10 hours. The device was posted permanently in noisy environments in LTE network and has passed an Internet radio stream via WLAN. What positively noticed in connection with the battery: the appliance heats up despite persistent use only minimal, which is quite an advantage over comparable devices. The chipset seems generally to consume little energy and be mature.

ZyXEL WAH7706

The setup and configuration of ZyXEL WAH7706 takes place via the web interface, which you easily can access by entering the IP address of the router from any browser. The web interface is simple modern decor and reacts very fast. The home page offers all important information at a glance, such as the used volume of data or the number of connected devices. There is also of course all the information about the battery status, and network technology.

The menu item “Internet” can be operated on request through only in LTE, UMTS or GSM network. In addition, of course, you can adjust the access data (APN) individually, provided that the device has not been automatically entered the correct data. Through the “Data Usage”, user can store a data limit and get notified when it exceeds a certain limit, not to exceed approximately disposable in the collective volume. SMS can be sent and received, of course also, even contacts can be stored in a phone book. If a memory card is inserted, you can use the ZyXEL WAH7706 as a file server.

The ZyXEL WAH7706 is a very good mobile LTE hotspot. In the test, the device was able to impress with a long battery life and a fast and stable Internet connection. Also, the web interface is fast, easy to use and has many features. A drawback may be the lack of connections for an external antenna for some users.

As an alternative, other vendors also provide LTE category 6 mobile hotspot, such as Alcatel Y900, Netgear AC790s and Huawei E5786, but all of them are more expensive than WAH7706.

Netgear AirCard AC810S Mobile Hotspot

The Netgear AirCard AC810S Mobile Hotspot LTE is the first portable routers for LTE speeds up to 600 Mbit/s in the downlink. These high data rates are achieved by the use of LTE-Advanced category 11 triple Carrier aggregation, delivering up to 60 MHz of usable frequency spectrum. In Europe, the Netgear AC810S is not yet available. But it’s already available for network operator Sprint in USA and Telstra in Australia(named Telstra WiFi 4G Advanced III). At the MWC 2016 in Barcelona, there was the opportunity to test the mobile hotspot, we can check more details and many photos from the device.

The Aircard 810s could achieve up to 600 Mbit/s in the downlink – no other mobile LTE hotspot on the market could reach this speed currently. Depending on the configuration, the device can be operated at different speeds in LTE Cat11 mode or LTE mode CAT9. As we introduced before, the routers with LTE Cat6 (up to 300 Mbit/s download) is the fastest you could get (eg Netgear AirCard 790S ). This is the situation before Netgear Aircard 810s comes out. However, the grid operators in Germany, Austria and Switzerland still do not allow higher speeds than 300 Mbit/s and can be upgraded on LTE CAT9 or LTE Cat11 in the course of 2016.

Upon request, the Netgear AirCard 810S Hotspot can be connect to an external antenna and LTE to improved for receiving data. The antenna connectors are on the side of the unit, which can be protected with a small cover when not in use. The power button is positioned On top of the router, so that the AC810S is switched on and off and the display on or off.

If you want to buy an external antenna for Netgear Aircard 810s, you can check below the indoor and outdoor antenna:

The Netgear AirCard 810S Hotspot battery allows an operating time of up to 11 hours in active mode or up to 260 hours in standby mode. The back can be taken off and the battery is replaceable easily by the user, so you can buy a second or third battery if required and travel several days without power supply. Furthermore there is the possibility to load external devices such as smartphones. Thus Netgear AC810S can be used as a so-called “Power Bank”.

The operation and configuration could be done via a large color touch screen on the front and two buttons on the side of the display. The entry is very fluid and intuitive, the menu is almost self-explanatory. The operation via a smartphone app is possible, then user does not need the Netgear AirCard 810S Hotspot in hand or take the briefcase, if you want to make an adjustment.

What’s more, the fast internet connection also arrives at the terminals, the Netgear Aircard AC810S supports WLAN 802.11a/b/g/n/ac on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Up to 15 devices can be connected to the router simultaneously. Before power on, a micro-SIM is required, the unit has no SIM lock and can be used with any provider.

The other vendors such as Huawei & ZTE haven’t released their LTE Cat11 mobile hotspots. So the netgear Aircard 810s would be the world’s first and fastest 4G Pocket WiFi router. Based the reliable 4G router and future-proof technology, Aircard 810s would be a great gadget for technology geeks!

Alcatel Y900 LTE Router Review

Last year, Huawei was the only manufacturer that provided routers for LTE Advanced category 6 with download speeds of up to 300 Mbit/s offered in Europe. The Chinese company TCT Mobile has now also introduced the Alcatel Y900 hotspot LTE Cat6 modem on the market and provides this even considerably cheaper than the comparable Huawei E5786 router.  Today we will have a review about the new Alcatel Y900 4G Mobile hotspot.

Small in Pocket Size

The Alcatel Y900 LTE Hotspot is comparatively small and compact and weighs only 88 grams including the battery, considerably less than current smartphones. The body is made entirely of plastic, and is possible to remove the back to insert the battery, SIM card and a memory card. The Alcatel Y900 doesn’t have a display, instead, decorated with large LED which strips the front. The used mobile communications technology (2G, 3G, 4G) is signaled with lateral LEDs. In the test, the LED display made a good figure, with displaying consumed data volume, battery status and time spent online.

Fast Internet over LTE Cat6

The modem in Alcatel Y900 Hotspot supports speeds of up to 300 Mbit/s downstream and up to 50 Mbit/s upload speeds on the 4G mobile network. The LTE Advanced Cat6 has been activated at some locations in Europe and the tariff also allows these high speeds. Of course, the router is also backwards compatible with the previous LTE Stages Cat3 and Cat4, also of course, UMTS (3G) and GSM (2G) are supported. In the test under Telekom network, the speeds of almost 200 Mbit/s downstream and 50 Mbit/s in the upload can be achieved, which is very good compared with similar devices, even if the technical maximum speed was not reached initially. Which is important for many applications is latency when tested between 20 and 35 milliseconds in the LTE network of Telefónica O2. The reception was good, even with a weak signal, a speedy web surfing was still possible. Unfortunately, Alcatel Y900 has no external antenna to connect.

Dual Band WLAN and USB 3.0

For a mobile LTE router, not only a current and receiving strong Modem is important, but also a good Wi-Fi module and a fast USB or LAN connection, so devices such as computers, notebooks and tablets can also use the full internet speed of the modem. The Alcatel Y900 is well positioned here. The WLAN module works on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz (dual-band WLAN) and even supports the current and very fast 802.11ac standard. If you want to use the router to a computer without a WLAN, you benefit from the fast USB 3.0 interface – A relevant cable is already included.

Unfortunately the internet is not encrypted, so you can connect without a password to the network. As a user you should quickly assigned a unique password so that foreign users do not get access to the WLAN of Alcatel Y900.

Operation via browser or via app

The configuration of the Alcatel Y900 could be done either in a browser via the web interface or via an app for smartphones and tablets. Supplied with a small piece of paper, the QR codes for easy installation of the app is provided for an Android or iOS device. Both the app and the web interface in the browser are attractively designed and very easy to use. In addition to common settings for wireless connection, you can also receive and send text messages and access the data on the memory card. In the test, both the smartphone application and web interface worked always reliable and fast.

Approximately 5 hours of battery life

The Alcatel Y900 battery has a capacity of 1,800 mAh and is very easy replaceable by the user, ie you can buy extra batteries and thus survive even during long trips without external power supply if required. The operating time of the test was constant subjection to the LTE network in about 5 hours. According to Alcatel, there is a much more powerful battery with 3,600 mAh for the Y900 4G Router, thus a useful life of about 10 hours would be possible. But the version with high battery capacity is not yet available.

Conclusion for Alcatel Y900

Anyone looking for a fast and secure future LTE hotspot, can safely pick up the Alcatel Link Y900.The small router convinced with good data rates in the LTE network and a fast dual-band wireless. The Alcatel Y900 is optionally available in black or in white, and works with all SIM cards, a SIM lock or NET-Lock does not exist. Directly from the network operator with the contract, you can buy the Alcatel Y900 without a contract from www.4gltemall.com. An alternative more expensive model is Huawei E5786 hotspot, which provides a small display, a more powerful battery and connections for an external antenna compared to Alcatel Y900.

Netgear Presented AirCard AC810S with LTE Cat11

Netgear has announced the first mobile hotspot AirCard AC810S with LTE Advanced category 11 at CES in Las Vegas. With LTE Cat11, the router reaches speeds of up to 600 megabits per second in the downlink, so that the device is twice as fast as the fastest development stage (category 6). Operation is carried out in a large color touch screen on the front, like the predecessor model Netgear AC790s.

In Europe, LTE Advanced Cat11 is currently not offered by any network operator, but Vodafone is planning the launch of LTE Advanced with more than 500 Mbit/s around mid-2016 and other network operators are sure to upgrade their networks accordingly. After the MWC in Barcelona , we suppose more terminals with LTE Cat11 or LTE cat12 will be coming onto the market.

Like older mobile LTE hotspots, Netgear sets the AC810S a comparatively very good quality. So the WLAN module supports dual-band operation on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz and it also supports the fast WLAN 802.11ac. Up to 15 devices can be connected with Netgear AC810S simultaneously via WLAN for Internet connection. On request, you can set up multiple SSIDs (network names) for guests and visitors as well as for private use. If you are at location with weak signal, you can connect an external antenna to the Aircard 810s to improve. The antenna connectors in the Netgear AC810S are two TS-9 ports. If you want to buy an external antenna for Netgear Aircard 810s, you can check below the antenna: http://www.4gltemall.com/4g-antenna-two-ts-9-connector.html

According to Netgear official site, the Netgear AC810S has a replaceable battery with capacity of 2930 mAh and the operating times of about 11 hours are possible for continued use. It comes with a so-called Jump Boost cable, which allows you to use the Netgear AirCard 810 hotspot to charge other devices such as smartphones and tablets.

LTE Cat11 with up to 600 MBit/s
The Netgear AC810S may take up to three 20 MHz wide frequency ranges bundle (Triple Carrier Aggregation). Depending on the configuration and frequency from the network operator, the Aircard 810s therefore could possibly reach up to 600 MBit/s in the downlink. In Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the network providers would take the carrier aggregation at the frequency ranges of 800, 1800 and 2600 MHz and both the German Telekom and the provider Swisscom have already announced wanting to put Carrier Aggregation the future.

Netgear has not yet announced whether the AirCard AC810S router will come onto the market. Even for the price, there are so far no details. Probably the AC810S LTE router will be more expensive than its predecessor, the Netgear AC790S with LTE Advanced Cat6 (300 MBit/s) without a contract. For more details and a detailed data sheet can be found on the website www.4gltemall.com .
